Default Yet another fan control question

I just wanted to confirm that when you configure the MS to control the fans, the temp used as the turn on point is from the coolant temp sensor at the back of the head and not the thermoswitch at the thermostat. Does that mean that the thermoswitch at the thermostat is not needed anymore? If so that would simplify my planned coolant reroute. Thanks.

It's from whatever temp sensor is connected to the MS, which should be the temp sensor at the back of the head.
