WI or a new radiator
Well guys got my FM II- Link installed and was originally going for 15 psi, but it was running to hot so it's at 12 psi right now. I was wondering if yall think I should get a aftermarket radiator with more cooling capactiy or just get a WI kit for roughly the same cost. I've been looking at some ebay rads and they are about $300- $350. From what I've read on here I can pick up a WI for about that much as well. Could I run 15 to maybe even 17 psi with a WI setup on stock internals?

Really though, from what ive read WI works wonders. And either way in the future you should get both =P
.. though i am thinking of doing a radiator next to the intercooler setup, ive read that that also works wonders.

Water injection isn't going to fix overheating any more than drinking Gatorade will alleviate a sprained ankle. If your engine is actually running hotter than it should, that needs to be fixed first.
How hot is "too hot"? In other words, what temperature is the engine actually running at? If in fact is is overheating, why? Cogged radiator? Bad thermostat?
I'm all for running big aluminum radiators (I have one myself) but I don't think I've ever seen a situation where making an occasional trip to boostville caused prolonged and chronic overheating on an engine with an otherwise functional cooling system. There's just too much thermal mass in the system to be rapidly overcome by the added heat produced during a few seconds' worth of boost.

Well, we tried running it on the dyno at 14 psi, but it got to hot and was pinging so we brought it down to 12 psi. Was going to get a new aftermarket radiator, to soak up more heat that was produced from boosting higher. Heard that I could go WI instead of getting a new radiator and that it would keep the temps down great and keep from pinging? Is my understanding of this wrong? My cooling system does not have any problems with it that I know of.

The larger radiator will add the ability to dissipate the heat in the coolant, but not really help much in the intake temp department. I am assuming you have a FMIC that came with the FMII....If that is what you have and all the rest of the original FM equipment, then you may be a good candidate to explore water injection. Install it post IC. It will help with the intake temps and also you may be able to increase the base timing just a tad. I am sure someone else will chime in with more useful information.
