Default Testing DO Pump

Because I don't want to screw anything up, how can I test to make sure my pump is actually working (bought used one)? Electronics is way over my head.

Can I just directly hook the (+) and the (-) from the pump itself to the car battery and I'm assuming that's pretty much it?

Yup, use 16ga wire though, the sucker does draw some current.

So I don't need to use any vacuum source to activate it? Just remove the pressure switch out of the kit and run the 12v + ground from the pump?

To test the pump, yes. Just give power to the pump.

Or just jump it at the pressure switch. The switch is just that - closes two wires and triggers the relay. Grab some 16ga wire and close the circuit there.

or to see if the pressure switch works, get somthing to make some pressure and turn on the switch... then hook it up as it would be in the car and see if ALL of what you bought works together...

yeah, you need to set the pressure on the hobbs switch, you a leakdown tester or whatever pump you have.a bike pump will also work but you may need to make a different hose

psreynol, the thread necro bar has been set pretty high on this forum. A year and seven months isn't nearly long enough to score a podium finish.
