The box for the rods says made in china, but actually K1 rods are finish honed in mentor ohio @ wiseco. We used a set in an sr20 and (I have access to great and expensive measuring equipment) the rods were pretty damn spot on, with measurements comparable to Carillo rods when JE pistons owned them. Wiseco pistons are also a step above stuff like supertech, more on par with JE and CP. Quality parts/good package for someone.. Free bump.

I am very interested... but aren't Wisecos notorious for being noisy in BP's?

FM brags on their website that Wiseco makes their own special profile so that they aren't as noisy as regular ones. I have no experience with either version, so it might just be hot air.

^^ No expert by any means but I know I have heard that forged pistons can be noisy on startup but quickly goes away

I would be interested in buying just the k1 rods if you find another buyer for the pistons.

I don't have a problem with that if someone wants to buy pistons separately.

I have 84.5 Wisecos in my engine. I don't remember what the piston to wall clearances were, but they're so quiet, I only "think" I hear them on cold startup.

So how much for pistons separate and rods separate?

$450 for pistons, $350 for rods. Both prices include shipping CONUS.

It's because of the mentality "looser is better than tighter" when people are deciding piston to wall clearance.. A little piston slap when cold is somewhat normal on built motors, doesn't really hurt anything. Not really a wiseco vs other piston company thing, more of engine builder's choice of piston to wall clearance.

Experienced engine builders of BP's will have the best idea of PTW, or you can default to the tighter side of Wiseco's recommendations.

Pics of the connecting rod build sheet/ packaging? I've never seen a K1 rod that didn't have the K1 symbol laser etched on the beam.

Supposedly my car has Wisecos in it. (I say supposedly because that's what the PO claims though i personally haven't seen the pistons... The stock pistons were given to me in a Wiseco box...)

Totally quiet.
