Default Bunch of parts sitting on my shelf

Need to move some things in order to raise money for a good deal on a local TorSen. I really need to invest in a 7" diff before turning up the boost, so some of these smaller projects I wanted to do but haven't gotten to can go cheap.

All prices are best offer, and shipped prices assume US48. Don't hesitate to send an offer.

ACT XT 1.6L clutch and pressure plate

SOLD

Pressure plate has some hot spotting, clutch disc is at 7.61mm, and hardly wore over 20K miles of driving (mostly highway).

$100 shipped OBO

Cibie NB Fog Lights with Bulbs

SOLD

$65 shipped OBO

Low Pro Headlight Kit - DAMAGED and INCOMPLETE

SOLD

Passenger side was bent in a collision, but can easily be repaired through disassembly and some hammer work. I may even be willing to do that for you. Has 3 out of 4 lights, missing the high beam on damaged side. Is very similar to the Moss kit, but sealed beam and not projectors, not sure of origin.

$100 shipped OBO

I will sell both sets of lights for $140 shipped. I had originally planned on using the Cibies as high beams in this kit.

Vision VDO Mechanical Water Temp gauge

Name: vdovisionwatertemp.jpg
Views: 29
Size: 5.4 KB

This is the correct size gauge to replace the factory one per this awesome write-up by chriscar:

https://www.miataturbo.net/general-miata-chat-9/oil-temp-gauge-cluster-pics-25685/

Also, it is mechanical, so not subject to variance in readout due to poor grounding.

Perfect for a track car.

Summit charges $43.95 + shipping, yours for $40 shipped firm.

NA window slider/crank assembly with handles.

Everything you need to convert your electrical window fail car into a lighter weight more dependable crank window setup.

Also great for a track car.

$125 shipped OBO

EDIT:

Don't ask what happened to some of the pics...they came out small, will work on that.

Very interested in the low pros. You got any more pics of the hardware? Does it include the crank arm on the motor side and the connecting link to the buckets?

Better pics of the lowpros:

They have the ball fitting for the actuator arm, but the shortened arm itself was not included. Relays and wiring, as well as rubber stops all still there. If the Cibies sell seperately I also have some HorribleFreight lights of a smaller diameter I can include that could serve as high beams until you source another good one.

Better pics of Cibies:

As far as I know these are for 01-03, and being unfamiliar with NB fog lights I can not guarantee fitment at all. I would imagine however that if your bumper has an accomodation for them, they will fit. I would also imagine most of the wiring is still there between the interior switch block off and the bumper plugs. Both Xterras in our family were this way, one came with lights, the other I added, very easily. But this is all speculation...so please don't base a purchase on that.

I have had a lot of interest on both of these, so probably won't budge on price. I am getting back to everyone individually as quick as I can though.

thanutsac:

Sorry about your luck with window cranks, maybe I shouldn't have said they are more reliable. They have to be better than my current method however...which is also fairly unreliable, and they usually fall off right as I'm heading under a rain cloud.

I will let these go for $25 shipped if someone needs a budget solution.

OK I will do some fitment research. I am trying to replace my existing 2000 ones.

Your initial ad stated.

Disclaimer

Items will sell to first person that pays after showing interest.

As far as I can see I was he first person, so let me research fitment and if you are still allowing me to be first of interest, then we can discuss further. I have not heard from you individually on this at all yet.

And I am not trying to sound like a dick here. I just am trying to abide by how the ad seems to be written to me.

I actually wrote that disclaimer to avoid this EXACT situation.

What you are trying to do is usually known as "dibs". Please read it verbatim...as it doesn't say "first person to show interest"...it says "first person to send payment." As in when I see funds in PayPal I ship it to that person.

The way to make this happen is to PM me, and tell me you are interested, and at what price...and ask for my PayPal address. I then decide, at my leisure if I would like to make the sell, which is based on:

1. Your feedback.
2. The general tone of our correspondence.
3. Your offer compared to my personal assessment of the value of the item, as well as competing offers.
4. How busy, caring, or desperate I am at the time, as well as the current lunar phase (PMS).

When I reply, providing my information, I would expect payment, soon, or will feel free to provide the same response to another individual. Should the unfortunate event occur that two individuals send payment, the part will go to the person who first submitted payment, and an immediate refund will be issued to the person who sent the later payment.

I have been in this exact situation, where I lost out on a part after sending payment within 2hrs of getting a PM with paypal address. It happens, and the seller was polite about it, refunded my money, and even offered to help me source another part.

I also used to give folks exclusive dibs (by only releasing PayPal address to one person at a time), and a fairly supple time window within which to make payment, but have had a few people lead me on, and also had one individual get QUITE upset (and vulgar) when I sold the part to someone else well after I had sent the PM. This has also proved to be a tedious way to sell parts, and possible miss out on sales. Recently I've been selling quite a few parts, and needed to sell them quickly for various reasons. I apologize if this business model isn't as conducive to the generally friendly attitude of our enthusiast community. While I don't look to make money at all (and generally lose or make deals to help people, sometimes even donating parts), when I decide I want to go a different route with my build, I'm entitled to do so as quickly and messy as I please. This is my hobby, and I enjoy it, and sometimes that enjoy comes from quickly jumping on a deal for an upgrade I've got my eye set on.

So I hope you can understand the change in policy, and the polite disclaimer. I hope that this is now clear to you. I will now add to that disclaimer that I also reserve the right to conduct business with whomever I please, regardless of contact date regarding the sale, on subsequent "For Sale" threads. I'll be nice and not make it retroactive to this thread.

The reason you weren't personally contacted is because you didn't send me a PM. I responded to all PMs on these items, and there were a few. I'd hoped I had addressed your issue with the update post this morning, but I will go back and PM everyone that has posted as well, regardless of interest level. It's usually accepted that a PM shows much more serious interest than a post, and I regret to inform you that there were PMs before you posted your question, so regardless you would not be first in line if I did sell on a "dibs" basis. Luckily for you dibs don't mean squat to me anymore, and I'll happily mail you the part if you manage to submit payment first.

I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just trying to conduct a classified ad that is easy for all parties to abide by...

With that said, you seem like a generally nice guy, and I hope the lights will work out for you. I'll PM you, and you can reply when you are ready to buy, if you find they will fit. I'll also do some research in the meantime.

Thanks for looking.

While I understand what you saying from your point of view. How would a perspective buyer, know who is or is not interested unless it was so stated in public? I would have no idea who may have already expressed interest if it is all done in private and further would have no idea of the prices being discussed.

TY for your pvt message Damon and for the rest here publicly, a sale is pending by agreement of gospeed81. We are resolving fitment concerns. If that is solved these are sold.

That's why you move quickly and send payment if you want the part. If someone else is willing to forgo the Q&A phase and move right to payment, why shouldn't they get it first?

This is the most hijacked FS I've ever seen...but I guess I helped that happen.

It looks like I've sold enough parts to buy the local TorSen, or atleast after applying some parts as barter. Feel free to shoot offers though on remaining items.

Low Pro lights and Fog Lights are SOLD. They sold fast, and with tons of interest. There's something to be said for lots of good pics in a FS ad I guess. I'm glad I woke up early and stumbled around the garage this morning.

Thank you guys....really looking forward to a sturdy drivetrain I can put some real boost through.

All parts payed for yesterday shipped early this morning. Parts payed for today will go out mid day tomorrow.

The fact that you said this publicly means you're about a month away from breaking 3rd gear and posting a "WTB: 6 spd transmission" thread.

There is a special circle in hell for people that impose jinxes. You've earned a spot *******, and I wish I hadn't shipped your package this morning so I could avoid your emails for a week and make urbansootesque excuses for why it hasn't shipped. Btw...your shocks are gay and I'm pretty sure that even if they don't fail soon, you'll find you forgot to tighten some important bolt that holds the A-arms in place...and you'll probably find out mid-turn with a full tank of gas as you slide backwards into a pile of flint rocks.

Jk, ...God I hope not, can't afford a 6spd without performing oral favors.

Since this thread has gotten onto the subject of forum classifieds etiquette, I've decided to share some tips for buyers since I've done quite a bit of selling here. This has nothing to do with my other rant above, but is honestly geared to help the guys that are unfamiliar with the forum For Sale setting, and want to catch deals.

1. PM before you post.

2. Don't lowball if you REALLY want the part, especially if it and shipping price match or are below market. $5-10 bucks IS money in your pocket, but not worth missing a part you've been waiting for and may not see again for a month.

3. Send payment as soon as possible, even if partial. This is especially true if stated acceptable by the seller.

4. Also, emails are usually better since not everyone logs in, and most of us have email access on mobile phones. If you PM someone with your email, or ask for theirs, you not only have more direction communication, but most likely their payment info as well.

5. Don't harass the seller or question their terms. They have the part, you want it. If you don't like the price, policy, or person, you can go somewhere else or pound sand, and the seller knows that. Yes, they likely need/want the money, but anyone that's sold more than 2 parts has dealt with a difficult buyer, and there is no payment worth dealing with another one.

Good luck guys. I hate to see people miss deals just as much as you do...and I've been in ya'll's shoes plenty of times. That's the reason I do business the way that I do.
