OK so I guess these are now "unsold" to me.

You told me in pvt that I was the buyer with an agreed to price.

You told me we were working out fitment confirmation and I agreed to that. An hour later my phone goes off stating new pvt message, in fact 2 of them. One that states you sold them to someone else.

You are absolutely right there is no point in stating publicly or privately anything.

And don't post a disclaimer that you can't live up to yourself.

Items will sell to first person that pays after showing interest. Absolutely no returns on any items, although I will work to make any situation you feel you were wronged, right.....

and you expect someone to give you partial payment to secure their interest????

Good seller rules:

1. Tell potential buyers in the ad to PM you FIRST.

2. Do not say a price with an OBO and accept a price offered and then sell it to someone else.

3. State and post your e-mail address indicating this is the best way to reach you.

3. NEVER EVER expect partial payment on an item that has not been shipped. How would we expect to be refunded that partial payment if YOU decide to take more than one partial payment.

And you are right you have the right to do business anyway you wish with whomever you desire.

Good luck with your sales

I covered all this in Private Messages...but thanks for airing it all out IN my FS ad when I owe you absolutely nothing because you never sent the payment I agreed to, you actually rejected it. This is the reason you missed out on the deal. I tried to make it easy on you.

If you must know I'm actually working hard to still get you the lights. I wasn't going to say anything until I could actually deliver though.

Yes, and the last thing you told me was that you weren't sending the payment as plan, but instead wanted me to do more legwork for you when I had already told you a shipped price, then offered you a way to pay for the part and just actual shipping. Not sure what else you want from me, but I don't write your name on something just because you want it. Lots of people "want" things...even claim to be serious.

I express interest myself in lots of parts I really can't afford, or aren't priority...just to gauge how firm the seller is, and where I stand in the deals. I try and let buyers know exactly those two things.

I told you what little I had found, and offered a few other options, which you replied you yourself were going to go out and investigate.

I have no idea what this means. You may be referring to PMs. In which case, and I'm sorry if you didn't know this, but they are the preferred way of securing a deal.

I absolutely live up to it...to the letter.

Read it again...first person to SEND payment. Not the first person that talks about, suggests, mentions, or claims payment.

The whole reason I do this is because of another very unhappy and rude potential buyer that led me on for a WEEK and then got pissed when he came back and had missed a deal by five hours. In the end at least he was polite and accepted that he went about it wrong, unlike you.

Yes, exactly...you only made it as far as showing interest...

I wasn't trying to be a slick lawyer type, but there's a reason it's written that way. Interest is only 10% of a deal...money talks.

Your issue was with shipping, which I told you could be payed afterwards, for the exact amount, with a receipt provided.

It wasn't partial payment of the item, the item itself would have sold. I was asking to be reimbursed for the big hand UPS sticks into my wallet (try ~$600 in the past month on for size). It adds up.

Good tip, I may add that, but again, that's a known condition here.

You're touching a few issues here.

1. You lowballed the **** out of me. I'm not going to lie, I pretty much ignored your post because of that. When I went back I saw that you asked to be PMed. The burden of communication is on the buyer, not the seller though.

2. I'm not sure what OBO has to do with accepting another price. I did agree to your best offer. You never proferred payment, and instead found more reasons to stall. Someone else offered me full payment, on multiple items, and IMMEDIATELY sent it. This was well after I had told you how much to send to consider the item sold.

NO.

Do you know that information miners do garner peoples emails from posts. I like only having to read a few emails a day, and that none of them are for viagra or life insurance. I don't even care to post it all garbled up, and I've actually recommended that buyers delete theirs after posting it for me as contact info.

This is exactly what Private Messages are for.

It's not partial payment on the item...but partial payments ARE acceptable. Been there done that, but prefer not to.

Again, I asked you to pay the item in full, but reimburse me for shipping AFTER I sent it to you, with proof. And this was after you wouldn't send a simple "shipped" payment I asked for.

Therefore there would be no redundant partial payments to refund.

Thanks, and I prefer not to do business with people that are hard to deal with. Just. Not. Worth. It.

You are just all butthurt because you missed a deal since you failed to initiate proactive contact, and then you lost the deal arguing about $5.

You missed out...pure and simple. Parts will be shipped to a guy that was very polite, and very easy to deal with, first thing in the morning.

I should have called you out for thread crapping the first time...but instead I decided to have fun with it since this thread has been a little humorous.

I'm pretty sure, by the way, that you have only succeeded in making sure that no one on this forum will ever want to deal with you. I may be wrong, and people are forgiving, but I don't plan to deal with you. I was honestly trying to work with the guy that did send payment on a substition for the fog lights (my cost) so that I could still send them to you. I'll stop trying...

I usually have pretty good luck. But recently have had to post the disclaimer due to a couple of angry potential buyers.

Thing is they were both over low-cost parts when they had plenty of opportunity to send payment. I felt bad for the last guy who turned out to be nice, and the disclaimer was made in his memory.

It is not however some legal contract you get to hold me to. In fact, there are pretty much no guarantees in online deals, except that you can recourse to a claim with paypal.

Also, most of your little tips are more of mandates. You have no right to mandate how I sell parts.

People like you make what was once an enjoyable hobby become a nightmare. I've dealt with MANY of the members here, probably 3 times what my feedback shows...so much actually that half of the nearly 20 packages I've shipped in the last month were to addresses my UPS store had saved.

Here I am struggling to wrap up the semester, needing to pass an engineering class just to stay at A&M, and wasting my god damn time arguing with you over a part I would probably have given to you if you had walked into my garage and got to know me and expressed the need.

As stated above I'm only selling in order to upgrade a part I really need to upgrade, and asked you guys to help me clear out some parts. Your attitude in our dealings was definitely not in line with that of the rest of our enthusiast community...and someone like you deserves to pay full retail price somewhere with a return policy and stock on hand.

Enjoy your stay.

Thank you.

BTW. This has put a really bad taste in my mouth.

I didn't want to sell these parts, and I priced them below what I had in them, in order to sell fast.

Really stinks to have to deal with this crap. I almost wish you had paid for them, so I could leave iTrader feedback on the deal. Would be great to see you try and get deals with a -1/100% under your name.

I haven't even eaten lunch trying to reply to people's PMs and this threadcrapping. My afternoon of studying is pretty well shot.

If anyone really wants a part please PM now. I don't plan on selling any more crap anytime soon, and will probably lock this up.

I kept every pvt exchanged on this and will happily keep them should at some point the admins of the board decide they need to ask questions.

I don't have the luxury of sitting at my computer to hope that I get your answer and can respond within 3 minutes.

You just said the lights are sold, I accept that. Second time today you have said it. Don't screw around trying to come up with them now.

Admin is pretty hands off, and it's a private party exchange...so good luck with that.

I admitted we had pretty well ironed out a deal...a couple of times actually. You kept asking me to do more legwork for you (get shipping quote, research fitment), and never sent payment.

I advertised what they were, and said they'd go to whoever PAID first. I was working out several deals at the same time, sorry if your toes got stepped on.

Umm...me neither you closed minded fool. I'm not some 14yr old surfing the web all day. I'm a father taking 400level engineering classes and also work 35hrs a week. I do usually keep an mt.net tab open and look up from the book occasionally though.

Big whoop, someone else was in front of their computer...they got the part. You can't say you didn't have a chance....you replied several times AFTER I gave you the payment information you requested.

Buyer mentioned he might be interested in replacements if the fogs were sold. At the time I hadn't checked paypal and was responding to "interest" PMs, and had nearly considered them sold, awaiting your payment.

I was checking into it to be nice...since you really wanted them.

Look...this isn't my business...this is a HOBBY. I enjoy sending people the parts they want, and enjoy getting the parts I need from other members here. We all just kinda swap parts around sometimes. You want a surefire deal go to one of our vendors. You want a chance at a cheap used part at a better price try your luck in the classifieds.

People like you take the aforementioned joy out of this.

So, how did it happen?

Well, those two buyers said they WANTED a part.

I provided them with information.

Someone else said they wanted the part.

I provided them with information as well.

In both cases the second party sent payment immediately, and I immediately informed the first party they were no longer for sale.

In both cases the first party came back, angry...because they apparently thought I had pulled out my Sharpie marker and written their name on the box because they waaaanted it.

Mommy must have given you everything you wanted and spoiled the **** out of you. It's a tough world out there cookie...you've gotta move fast and think smart.

You're more than welcome.

Thank your for the good offer, prompt payment, and polite tone in our correspondence.

It was a pleasure doing business with you as well, and your address is saved in my UPS account. Would gladly swap, buy or sell parts with you again.

So...not one single offer on anything since the thread-crapping and seller policy attack started.

Coincidence?

I knew I should have just hit report post when I first saw that crap, and I bet it would have been deleted inside of 10 minutes.

Some of you newbs need to go read the Classifieds Forum Rules.

Carbing Shock Tower Brace still up for sale.

Water temp gauge also still here.

I'm probably holding on to the window cranks.

Locking this up.

Really made for a crummy day.

Accomplished goal of a rear end that won't blow and leave me stranded...but apparently really upset a fellow enthusiast.

Hopefully I can avoid that in the future.

Thanks to those that bought (and were nice about it).
