Sweet!
Everyone else should keep on him too. I had to do the same thing with a guy from California. I had bought a 914 with 60,000 actual miles garage kept. It had alot of surface rust on the bottom. But it was solid. By the time I got my parts 9 months latter. The open air and rain had flurished the rust till the car wasn't worth me messing with.
I was close to flying out and settling it. But he came through one part every three months.
Inquire on friends phone numbers about parts. When he calls back save all the numbers. Always be polite almost oblivious and BUG HIM TO DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It became my pass time. I would call all his numbers over and over till he answered. Leave messages everytime you call. But only do it until he answers. Then wait a
week.LOL

I would just bow it up none stop for 10 mins at a time and do it several times to he answered. He almost got smart once and I got I-RATE. He calmed himself down. As bugging as I was, he woundered what I was capable of......

you guys are funny .i know this guy. his name is arbie. he is pretty cool. just not a miata nut like the rest of us .he may not know every trim level of every year. he is a parts dismantler that specializes in miatas. his shop is littered with parts. i believe he would install a rearend just for the fock of it , and tear it out for sale again.
MX54PLA , you are in ventura , your even closer to him than i . go down with cash and buy the diff , he'll pull it right in front of you.and probably show you how to install it , with ease.
then come back and tell us how fishy he is.
ive gotten a few deals from him , but i usually go down there and pick stuff up. he even let me take parts , and paypal him later.
go find out. he left his number , call him .

^ no excuse.

Nobody cares if he's a nice guy in person, or what he specializes in, they want their parts in a timely manner.

I live reletively close to the guy and I have bought parts from him from his shop. He's a one man operation and I'm not surprised he has issues getting parts out on time.

I'll second what Urban said and add that he has never failed to stop whatever he's doing to pick the part I'm looking for and give me either a damn good deal, or a comparative price. He always makes me wish I had a little bit extra to buy that hardtop that just showed up or the complete Tein suspension that he wound up with for hundreds less than what I'd have to pay elsewhere. I did buy a NB top (non-zip glass window) from him, with the complete frame in excellent condition for a song and he installed it right there free of charge.

Definitely not what I would call an all-around Miata expert though, but he can pick and install a part, no problem. Sounds like dealing with him through Ebay is a nightmare though so, yeah, I wouldn't do it. I'm just glad I don't have to.
