Mr. Yates is running that manifold....perfectly flat boost...no problems, but lets see how it handles more than 8psi....

Yah, there in lies the issue. It isn't the low boost that is the issue... its the real boost

it wouldn't take much to move the gate flange to the collector, and for that price it still looks like a good deal to me

I have a manifold like this one for my 1.6. The problem I have found with the external wastegate flange is that to have it at the collector, which is the way I have it, one must grind off a section of the tower support. Notice that there are two triangle sections of metal that stick out from the strut towers. ITs the only solution I found. The good thing is that although the clearance is minimal, the engine rocks towards the passenger side, preventing the wastegate from hitting the body.
