Default feeler - depowered steering rack

So I needed to swap out my power steering rack for a manual one to get some more oil pan clearance with the LS1 V8 swap. I am picking up a used manual rack tomorrow and assuming it is OK I will be putting it in the car.

Thus I may have an extra power steering rack sitting around soon and have already been wondering what I can do with it. I can take it apart, depower it properly FM style, clean it up, lube it, seal off the PS line holes, and reassemble. Is anyone interested in a fully depowered PS rack? I'll sell it at a good price like all the other stuff I sell here.

This PS rack came out of a 1994 but IIRC they are all the same.

I am very interested in that better ratio for autox. I'm a little confused though. Are you suggesting that you'd be selling it after converting it FM style or before because I can do all that myself.

Also, Price?

They aren't all the same. I found that out when I tried to FM depower my '97 rack... Assuming the 94 is the same as a 93 rack, it is the more desirable design.

Glws.

IIRC 90-93 and 94-97 mount the same way but have different internals. 94-05 have similar internals but the 99-05 have different mounts.

Ahh OK thanks for the fitment clarification. Search fail on my part.

Wayne_Curr I was planning on depowering the rack and then selling it. That way it might help out someone who wants a depowered rack but does not have all of the tools do do it properly. I think $175 would be fair assuming the rack is in good shape internally.
