Estimated life of that battery powering this thing? Not like its a big deal to recharge it partway through the day, just curious.

I would guess multiple days. The power draw is quite low. Something like less than .5amps. So 2200maH battery would last like 44 hours. bad math. I will remeasure this evening.

See my edit. Won't make 44 hours but I bet it would do a day.

No worries, I'm sure it will be fine. I can charge it between sessions if I have to.

Maybe, I hate packing peanuts so once I found the module I stopped digging through the box.

What all would it take to make this thing store the gps locations? I am curious just because I would love to hook up a small battery pack, then put it on one of my cats to track where it goes when it wanders the neighborhood at night.

Would need a small microcontroller that has the ability to store data. Instead of the Bluetooth you would have the microcontroller connected to the gps chip. So a whole new product basically

To those who have bought them or are looking to buy them would you still have been interested at $50? $35 just cut everything too close with extra costs and supplies. I'm looking into getting a whole bunch of the cases made (think hundreds) and need to find a price point that works. Any feedback is appreciated also.

I think $50 is plenty reasonable.

Personally, for the kit, I would have paid 50 for it. Really for two main reasons;
1) Very well built, sorta made-in-america
2) Miata Turbo Member
