MegaSquirt Enhanced 1999 2000 Reverant
I bought this MegaSquirt II computer last Fall in this group buy:
https://www.miataturbo.net/group-buys-member-discounts-23/enhanced-megasquirt-group-buy-all-miatas-90-05-a-60486/
I recently bought a low mileage, 2001 Miata LS so I'll be selling my 1999 Miata. This unit will NOT work on '01+ engines without rewiring the harness so it is up for sale.
I installed it over the winter while the car was in storage. I have been running it since late March (<1000 miles). It ran great but I don't have the patience to tune it 100%.
A base map is loaded and ready for fine tuning. It started right up on the base map and the fuel can be autotuned using TunerStudio VEanalyze. This is a direct plug in for 1999 and 2000 Miatas. It will fit in the OEM location reusing the lower bracket. I have pictures showing how I mounted it and can email them in case you want to mount it in the same place.
In being totally upfront and honest, my '99 has a slight idle droop that is intermittant. Others that bought this ECU have successfully tuned the idle but I think my 1999 Miata has other issues, possibly worn thrust bearings (crank walk). I can sometimes feel a pop when I push the clutch.
While I initially had problems with the LC-1 (was reading lean), I mailed it back to Innovate. They tested it and it works fine. I retuned fuel (much richer) and haven't had any more trouble with the LC-1!
Seriously, if I hadn't stumbled onto a nearly flawless 2001 tonight, I would have kept tuning it. I was making progress tuning idle...just don't have patience nor ambition on my '99 anymore! It runs better than OEM after setting the A/F for lean cruise (15.5) and to run less rich at WOT (12.8).
Included:
-MS2 enhanced ($655 Reverant built unit) Details here: https://www.miataturbo.net/showthread.php?t=60486
-90 degree serial cable adapter $10
-10 ft. serial cable. $10
-USB to serial adapter $40
-Tunerstudio registration key (unlocks autotuning capability) $50
-LC-1 wideband O2 sensor (driven less than 1000 miles). $210 I can also send pictures showing how I wired it...easy plug and play other than one 12v solder connection
All this adds to $975 total
$800 shipped ($175 savings)
