the size of the hole is less important than the channel leading up to it.

here was my port:

held perfectly solid.

Hey Lars,

Could you measure or tell me the compressor outlet size. I'm going to be reusing my fm intercooler and piping and need to see if I'll need a reducer and stuffs.

What do you think about transitions into the port. So like smoothing the valley into the rest of the housing orrrr do you think how you have it keeps air channeled to keep higher velocity to add pressure to the waste gate.

Turbo compressor inlet is 2.5", compressor outlet is 2.25".

the point is making it easier for exhaust to flow into the wastegate, removing all the material will pretty much put you back to square one.

enlarging the hole is when you have to worry about pressure against the flapper.

it's not about velocity or pressure, it's simply about flow.

is it easier for you to merge into traffic when you have to stop at an intersection and take a 90° turn or when you can stay at speed and take a nice yielded ramp?

I drive a miata so I take as many sharp turns as possible and use all the boost to accelerate.

For an update to all the people who have bought setups. I just got off the phone with the machinist that makes the head flanges. I ended up doubling my order since so many people want my setups and the flanges have a long lead time. ETA is about 2 weeks until the flanges are done. I am hoping this will not push back deliver dates, but the first 2 might be a bit later then expected. Long term I am hoping to keep head flanges on hand to not have this issue. I even ordered my first batch before the group buy launched hoping they would get here by the end of December.

I need a bit more porting on the wastegate. I get a some creep in 4th gear. I think with some tuning this turbo should hit 12psi around 3500rpms.

Is this just off waste gate or are you using a solenoid

Wastegate only. Line is ran from compressor outlet to wastegate. Will move that vacuum line to after intercooler later. I am just happy to have it running for now.

I think with a little bit more wastegate porting and an EBC should get it a tiny bit flatter. This was probably the third time I had been out driving the car since the turbo went on. First time ever getting it into boost and the tune is still a good bit off. I know I am lean in the upper rpm's and need to add fuel. Over the next few days if the weather allows I will work on getting it tuned better and get some good logs to show off. I just wanted to finally show that the kit does work and make some decent boost. The power comes on rather smoothly in all honesty, none of the waiting for spool and then bam being pushed back into the seat.

So what would you estimate shipping at down the line? For us unlucky non-group-buyers?

Good to know. That's about when I'd be ready. Although I was looking for a cost ballpark. I'm in Florida if that helps

Sorry did not realize you were asking for a shipping cost. My best guess for shipping costs will be $100-150. The setup will ship in 3 or 4 boxes. I am having to get custom boxes made as parts are an odd size. What you will be charged is cost of boxes + packing materials + Fedex/UPS shipping costs. From the group buy the setups will be going all over the US, so by the end I should have better estimates of shipping costs.
