It wouldn't hurt to pull the oil lines off and inspect them. That might tell you why the bearings failed.

I am thinking blockage/coking prevented the bearings from getting lubricated, they seized up (no boost), and then when you floored it, the exhaust gas was enough to break the unlubricated bearings lose, and therefore blowing up the turbo.

I've seen where debris clogged the inline filters to the turbo, causing starvation. You had an inline filter right? What'd it look like?

I don't think he did, as far as I can tell he was running the TSE adapter I sent him that hooks in at the oil pressure sender, then a -4AN line to the turbo. He was using the same restrictor that I send out to all my customers.

Are these turbos jb or bb? You don't want a restrictor with a jb turbo.

That blanket statement is incorrect.

Ok, generally you don't need a restrictor with a jb turbo. If you read the link you sent it says as a last resort. You'd think you would rather find out you are running too much pressure and need a restrictor than find out your restrictor just killed your turbo. Most journal bearing turbos don't need restrictors on most setups. Want to eliminate the question, check the pressure at the oil feed location and you will know for sure.

Braineack ran this same turbo 7/8 years ago with the same size restrictor I send out. I have customers with 10k+ miles running the restrictor. It is correctly sized and should be used. I also tee off the same port as the oil pressure sender, so if his gauge was working he saw the pressure that turbo had.

Lars, what size restrictor are you currently sending out with the kits?

So these are my best trap speeds so far, there is room for improvement.
The 2 on the left are from yesterday, the one on the right from last Wednesday. My car turned 238,000 miles at the track yesterday and I installed my kit at just about 227,000 miles.
Thanks again for the awesome kit!

I run the Vibrant fitting with no inserts so .060" in mine since day 1. I guess I'm at 4500 miles +/-.

Just for reference all the restrictors I send out are made out of these rivets. It is the same size rivet that Braineack used 10 years ago, and have been running on all my customers cars along with my person one.

You did not order the oil line setup, so I did not ship you any. So far you are the only person who has rolled their own oil lines.

Makes sense. I think I asked the question wrong. I have seen several posts in this thread with HP numbers but no explanation of their full set up. I would just like to know what these guys are running for ECU, intercooler and injectors so I can get a feel for how this kit performs with each set up.
