Default FS: AEM 30-1710 (Series 1 PnP for 90-95) - $300 - read the ad fully

AEM 30-1710 box, PnP for 1990-1995 Miatas. Serial number 0056.

Full disclosure: This box was removed from service due to an intermittent power cut issue. If the car this box was installed in was driven over rough kerbing on a race track at high speed while under high lateral load (i.e. exit kerbing), the car would misfire. The box was replaced with another 30-1710 during troubleshooting. As a result, this box is sold as-is.

$300 shipped takes it. Just the box, no center connectors, no cables, no pins, etc. If you're looking for an awesome ECU for your street car on a shoestring budget, this might be up your alley.

So what you're saying is someone just needs to mount this suspended in the air with some bungee cords?

Killer price, I'm tempted. My 1710 box has the random cutout during cruise.

My for-Honda box had random single misfires, about once every 20 mins. Then I got tired of the noise in the TPS and MAP lines caused by newbie-engineer PCB layout mistakes. I hacked it to fix that, then the misfires went away.

Any info about what you did specifically to fix it, would be appreciated.

With the 1.6 coils, it was horrible. 1.8 coils was much better. toyota COPs were liveable. I barely notice it with the V6. Yeah, about every 20-30 minutes. If I just happen to be on the throttle hard, it's embarrassing.

anyway, free bump? haha.

EDIT: I've found a post on here from you about it with a schematic.

BTW the series1 ignition outputs are pretty weedy. They can't drive stock coils to full output. When I added a circuit to boost their output then they were able to. Now I have no probs with 15 psi with 01 coils (which are weaker than 00 coils).

More like this would be a great ECU for a street car.

I've used these boxes to make 350whp+. Full VVT control, 12+1 trigger wheel support, high-res timing/fuel maps (17x21). If you have issues with the S1 box, feel free to start a thread about it instead of shitting up my classifieds thread. Thanks.

I did not mean to offend and love my series 1 ems. Apologies. Like I said...

I've used my 1710 on three different engines incl the v6, 4 different ignition setups, autotune, I've had great luck with the knock control, etc. still a great ecu.

No offense taken, I love my series 1 as well. Rover still runs one and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Apparently Jason doesn't love his, and he should make his own thread about the issues that relate specifically to his Honda box instead of turning my classifieds thread into his personal rant space
