Still have it. I don't have time to figure out shipping. I'll throw it on a pallet, and take it to the shipping dock of your choice nearest 91791. I'll knock $25 off the price if you handle the shipping details.

You did read that it has new oil pump, H2o pump, TB, and bearings < 500 miles right?

What the hell, you handle all the shipping details, and I'll give you the longblock for $200.

Sorry didn't notice that this thread was revived. I don't know anything about shipping engines. I can ship it using the mt.net shipping stand. But you need to figure out the shipping for this price.

I'll box it up and take it to work with me in Los Angeles, find me a place to drop it off anywhere near 91791.

The shipping stand is property of mt.net. Since you have such a low post count and are unknown here. I'll need a $50 deposit, when it's shipped back, it folds up nicely and can be put in a prepaid box and shipped back for under $20, then you'll get your deposit back.

I pulled the exhaust mani the other day, to sell it, and found oil in the #1 runner. So its either the #1 rings or valves.

Ok, so since the exaust mani is sold now, how much are you gonna let me get the long block minus the exaust mani now for?

Good start for a build project.

Make offer. Need room in the garage.
I think we may have a misunderstanding, I probably should have typed my opening post better. This is what it's trying to describe:

1) A 1.6 with head removed AKA "short block"

2) A 1.8 "long block" (block and head) from valve cover to taped oil pan.

3) Other misc parts, such as flywheel, mani, etc.

I know we all like good deals, but did you really think all that was included for $200? Should I include the mid pipe since it was attached to the manifold? How about the cat?

Like I said earlier, this motor has new OP, WP, front and rear main seals, CAS O ring, bearings, valve cover gaskets. Well over $200 in new parts with less than 300 miles on them. I got a junk yard motor and did everything to it other than crack the head off of it, and I kick my self for not doing that. Otherwise it would be running and boosted in my car right now.

I cut and pasted this from an engine shops web page, even though they are talking about american iron and some of the parts are different, you should get the idea.

THIS WILL ALSO REQUIRE A SKILLED ENGINE SPECIALIST, AND HOURS OF TIME CLEANING THE FOLLOWING PARTS THAT YOU TAKE OFF YOUR OLD ENGINE TO REUSE ON YOUR NEW ENGINE, SUCH AS OIL PAN, TIMING COVER, VALVE COVERS, INTAKE MANIFOLD, CARBURETOR, WATER PUMP DISTRIBUTOR, ALL IGNITION COMPONENTS, IT WILL REQUIRE MANY HOURS OF CLEANING AND ASSEMBLY, PLUS IF YOU SCREW IT UP IT IS YOUR PROBLEM !!!

I douobt it weighs that much. I shipped a head last month and it weighed just over 50#. I can pick up a fully assembled 1.6 block and put it in my truck by myself, I doubt it's 200#.

Being that a 1.8 is slightly heaver than a 1.6 I would guess 150-200lbs. If you go to the front desk and look for a thread entitled "Shipping Sticky" you'll find pix of the shipping stand with a 1.6 short block on it. I will put bags over it, and a box over the top. Just to give you an idea, if the shipping company asks you how it's packaged.

Oh, just remembered this motor has a freeze plug in the front of the head for a coolant reroute.

If you want I can add a protege exposed cam valve cover with a not so perfect paint job in place of the stock VC, for an extra $50.
