Default MSPNP1 on 95 with 99 engine Questions and Map Request

Gen 1 on a 95 with a 99 engine. Engine is stock running the 95 harness, NB injectors and rail, NA TB, NA CAS, NA coils, etc...standard conversion

1) Since Im running the 95 CAS and harness, I can run any 94-95 map right?

2) MSPNP was controlling a turbo car that ran great, I get start up and if I EASE the gas on very slowly it will rev, anything other then that it chokes and dies. WB is showing pig rich at idle.

3) Does anyone have a map good for a base map? I can reload the base 94-95 map since currently their is no turbo on it and just use that if that will work, but....

4) Will tunerstudio work with the MSPNP1? Megatune will not load the 04-95 with no MAF. It will bring up the screen for with MAF only. If I run the other one, it will show its open in the tool bar (Windows 8), but it wont open if I click on it. If not, anyone know a solution?

Basically anyone have a suggestion on getting this thing to run right? ECU tuning is a big head scratching weakness for me.

Thanks.

I think it's the NB injectors you are running, as they are different from NA in flow rates. If you are running the NA tune, then it is calculating for those injector rates which are different. Tunerstudio will work, but I think you'll need to adjust your injector settings first, then manually tune for VE (tunerstudio is good for light touch ups, not big changes). When I installed a 99 engine in my 96, I kept the 96 injectors, but used the 99 fuel rail.

Thanks Jason. Yeah, I normally would use NA injectors too, but I was told by a few people that you could use NBs with no issues, so gave them a whirl. I'll throw the NAs on.

Did you use the 96-97 maps as your base maps? What do you mean adjust my injector settings first to use Tunerstudio? Or do you mean fix the injector first...?

any injector will work, in TunerStudio [TS] go to Basic Settings, Engine Constants, Required Fuel, fill in dialog boxes and let TS adjust for what ever injectors you have

But I think there are more adjustments that are needed in addition to adjusting for a different injector size

I used 96-97 base maps.

In regards to the injectors, I was talking about adjusting for the NB injectors if you are using NA maps.

Thanks. So NA injectors 94-95 base map. And then DL Tunerstudio and use that for tuning. Thank you.

NA injectors in and idles better, but I cant get in it without the car running SUPER lean. 22+ AFR.

Anyone in the SoCal area that would be intereted in helping a brother out for an afternoon who knows MS well? Its a track car only so trying to drive this thing on the street and dial it in is not easy. And my MLV is not reading and saying its missing a time column.

I'd use the NB injectors on a '99 engine.

Basemap is a starting point. You should not expect it to run well on the basemap. It should be just enough to get the engine started so you can begin tuning. Here's a tuning procedure for idle (post #11 and subsequent):

https://www.miataturbo.net/megasquir...me-help-57133/

Once you're idling, user either MegaLogViewer's VE Analyzer or TunerStudio's VE Analyzer Live to tune the rest of the VE table. It's an iterative process.

Remember that a lean indication on a WBO2 doesn't necessarily mean lean. It just means oxygen is present. Misfiring for any reason (including being rich) can cause this.
