Just finished installing a BMW Vtps (Bosch #0-280-120-406) in my '92 1.6 with a mm9093 pnp2. Picked the tps up about a month ago on the classifieds, was already plug and play from the PO. The wiring has been beaten to death and doesn't need to be discussed.

I did find something interesting though when it came to the MS. All the threads I could find were quite a few years old and all talked about removing resistors R6 and R7 and soldering in a couple jumpers, as outlined here My Turbo Miata Photo Journal - Variable TPS . I bought my MS in August 2016 and much to my surprise it had an updated main board (V1.3) that eliminates any cutting or soldering. just had to make one slip on jump and the MS was ready to go. Not sure when the V1.3 was introduced, but for anyone buying a new MS let it be known! Am I way out of the MS loop, and is this all old news? Maybe... But I tried to do my homework before attempting the install and only realized I had the V1.3 after I opened the MS up.

On a side note, I found an unsed slip on jumped next to the DB9 connector. Was able to slip that from its original home onto J5 in order to "mod" the MS

After I opened up the MS. J5 needs to be jumped.

Those applied to the first generation MSPNP. The variable TPS mods proved so popular that we made sure with the second generation design that they wouldn't need any soldering.
