Go to the BS section and click on the first sticky. It shows a place in Dallas and Austin. If you find a place in Houston, be sure you recommend it gets added to the list.

I would really love to take the miata to begi and have them tune it but will they do that. I know they probably can but will they?

Yeah Ill prolly call them my next day off. As of now Im just trying to do a little research on who I want to tune this beast. Also waiting on the very last piece of my entire build, my head from FM. I think I will probably go with begi if they will do it. I had completely forgot about them being located in texas.

yeah, BEGi is your best bet then. A lot of shops don't like MS :(

right now I'm debating if I want BEGi to tune it on a standard dyno, or Clint Pohler to tune it on the eddy control dyno.

BEGi knows MS well, and they super friendly and I like them. Tuning Concepts (clint) has the superior tools, and is known accross the nation for tuning racecars, and was open to tuning ms if I work the software.

In the end, I just want the safest tune that makes reasonable power/torque. There are so many different philosphies that I don't know who to pick. Right now, I'm leaning toward dropping the car off at BEGi and asking them to call me when its ready for the track.

Considering your daily, has your turbo car been deemed track only?

nah, I drive the turbo car whenever its nice out and I don't have to leave it parked somewhere sketchy. The suspension is firm, its loud, seats are a bitch to get in and out of, people like to key it and kick it because Dallas is full of white-trash incestuous trash, and its generally a bitch to own.

I wanted to use "TuninConcepts /clint Pohler" in Austin, but he didn't return my 2nd email to set-up a time. There's also "euro car center" which looked great until they copped bullshit attitude where the guy told me "they usually prefer to tune high end cars, and we'll bump you out of a better customer comes along." lol The idiots at "gotham gaysex racing" not only wanted $2400 to start tuning, but let me know to expect 3-6 hours of labor to strap the car down, change plugs, and refuel.

If you want a Dallas tuner, your best bet is Exatorq or Alamo. The guy at Exatorq said that he'll tell you what to do, you have to work the software. The guy was really cool, and sounded excited about working on something new...probably the only person I spoke to who owned a dyno and was actually nice. Bryce at Alamo was my first choice, but it worked out that BEGi gets to tune it because I'm in south Texas and (not that Alamo would) I didn't really want to hear some shop tell me how inferior MS was to whatever $8k bullshit they have to sell (T1racing).

I don't get it, I've tried to give a few shops money to tune my car and they all turn it away. Apparently owning a dyno makes people act like shady drug dealers.

I stepping away from the DFW racing scene a couple a years ago to focus on work and family. But I remember a lot of the shops that deal with the wanna be street racers, and the domestic guys that seemed determined to stay in the past is the idea that if we don't sell it, or know how to use it, then the product is crap. I've heard guys say the same thing about Hal-tec when they normally tune Tec 2 or Tec 3, Drag, when they prefer FMax. By the way this attitude was most visible from Honda, and Mustang shops in Arlington, and Fort Worth. I remember a Honda Master mechanic telling us that a certain swap wouldn't work. He said If it worked, then Honda would have done it. We told him we had an example sitting out side. He told us he was we were lying, so we took him out side and introduced him to his first 2.3 Vtec Prelude. That attitude was why I was so worried about going with any of the Mega Squirters. BTW I no longer worry about my choice, but I realize that a lot of people are sure to tell me how shitty my EMS is because I didn't get AEM (Meaning they couldn't sell me an AEM)

Well ironically enough, Exatorq was the most amicable and accomidating, and they do GM/LSx flashes, and they run the "ricekiller" forum.
