MSPNP2 for 96/97 not seeing car RPMs
Hi all. I am on the final stages of finishing my turbo build, and in the process of tuning my car. I have a professional tuner doing the work. I am using a MSPNP2 from diyautotune, and it seems to have a defect. The MS will not see any RPMs coming from the car, and in turn, the car will not start. We thought that the issue may have been a bad CAS, but we swapped in a working CAS and the problem still remains. I believe that issue is with the MS. I have sent an email to DIYautotune with hopes to hear back soon.
Has anyone seen a similar problem before? How often to MS's come from diyautotune that have issues? Does anyone have any advice for me? I'd like to hear back from diyautotune before opening the case, and looking at the wiring.
For the record, everything else on the megasquirt is working.

I will also add that we swapped in the stock ECU and the car started right up and ran. We also pinned back the wiring harness from the CAS to the ECU harness and everything is working as expected.
The LED on the MS doesn't blink, and I get no trigger signal in the logger.

Definitely call DIY about it. There was a thread on another forum recently (which I can't find now, of course) where the guy was having an issue with (I think) a DIYPNP and apparently DIY had a supplier change a component packaging on them without saying anything and it could short to the board. They said to send it in and they'd fix the issue.
DIY have always been pretty good to deal with from my personal experience and what I've seen of others.

Now I'm stuck with many labor hours from the shop who was "diagnosing" the MS with all of DIY's requests. It has been a very long journey of poor communication and bad customer service.
This is just a rough and short recap of my experience. If anyone is interested in a full timeline of the story, I could put one together with all of the emails I have saved.

Sorry - I missed these until now. Yes, that was the exact issue. They didn't tell me what the exact cause was. But, since this thread was revived, I might as well update you guys. As you can see, I sent the MS to DIY on December 16th. It took FIVE weeks for the repair to be done. When I finally received it, the car started, but only ran 3 of the injectors correctly. The 4th injector was stuck open, which nearly hydrolocked my motor when it was first started. We got back in touch with DIY, and after another MONTH of troubleshooting (delayed responses from DIY and many requests from them that I felt were unnecessary), it was sent back to DIY again. We were sure that the problem was MS again since the injector was stuck open even on DIY's tune, but DIY was fairly certain it was something that we did in the tune. Low and behold, we sent it back, and DIY said that the MS had serious issues and was beyond repair. They finally sent me a new unit, and my car is running as of last week.

Please email me at ben@diyautotune.com with that summary so that I can investigate, and like Matt said, make sure measures are in place to ensure that no one ever has these types of issues in the future. We have hired 3 more people to increase our production and tech support abilities. I can help make sure that their talents are leveraged correctly and that problems are handled as efficiently as possible.
