Default MSPNP2 first start issue...wb whacked reading

Ok. First post in a long time. I have recently converted my car from an emanage blue to a new MSPNP2. I have all my connections in order and the car started fine with the base map. Everything looked good to warm up and set the fixed timing. When I setup the tunerstudio project, it was defaulted to wideband....left that. I have my LC-1 connected to my ECU ground, and I know it was working previously with the emanage. After I started the car, and starting warming it, I set my EOG to the Innovate LC-1. When I did this and hit "write to controller" my a/f ratio guage on tuner studio went whack and is now reading 20! Not sure what I did here. I may just let it warm up and set the timing before I mess around. Any help here would be appreciated as I would like to use VE analyser live to tune.

First, make sure you have wideband input enabled under Project Properties. If you do, check the LC-1's analog output voltage.

Wondering if this has something to do with it. My LC-1 is pretty old. Came in a white box with orange lettering

THIS STEP IS ONLY ON 'older model' LC-1'S as defined above (and below actually)! Use a 470 ohm, 1/4watt resistor in between the analog output of the LC-1, and the o2 input of the MegaSquirt. So you'll wire the analog output from the LC-1 to one side of the resistor, and then you'll wire the MegaSquirt 02 input to the other side of the resistor, forcing the signal to pass through it.

Blue Box or White/Red box LC-1's (started shipping around mid-June '06) have an updated DAC that does not require the 470 ohm resistor when used with MegaSquirt. Another way to identify if you have this updated LC-1 that doesn't need the resistor is the serial number will be LC11188 or above, or the serial number will start with CLC on new models.

you either configured the AFR calibration incorrectly or you're inputting the NB signal.

Wideband was selected when i started a new project, with base map from megasquirts pnp website....MS2E v3.3.1a MSPNP2-MM9093. I then calibrated the AFR with EGO sensor lc-1. I do have a AFR table setup as well.

I configure the req_fuel too for my 310cc injectors. I'm coming from an old emanage blue setup. Req fuel is set at 8.7 for 310cc injectors.

reading 4.2 volts on lc-1 output to mspnp2. Which suggests im running lean (tunerstudio show 20 as my afr), while my guage which is configure as 0-1v output 2 as narrowband shows im rich.....there is gas coming out of my tail pipe so i'm inclined to believe my guage is correct and the reading from my output on the lc-1 to mspnp2 is incorrect. Were old lc-1's inverted for their voltage?

what firmware is your LC1 running?

how you used LM Programmer and determined exactly what your LC1 is outputting? Did you buy it used or something?

well...not sure...haven't updated it for years. I'm not even sure I can find the communication cable for it. I went to custom linear wb and tricked some settings but things are still not right. My Guage is showing rich even after car is warmed up while tunerstudio is showing lean with lc-1 default settings. Leaving lots of gas in my driveway. Got to see if I can find my lc-1 cable.

it must have a funky output programmed as 4.2v is lean.

If your car is running, there's a fault in something else, because it wouldn't run at 20:1.

So under "tools" and "calibrate afr", you selected LC-1?

Yes. Also checked to make sure it was set to single WB sensor.

Found my lc-1 cable. Gonna check the outputs. Load firmware.

Ok...think I have it figured out. My output on the lc-1 had weird settings.

4.8V= AFR 10
0.0V= AFR 19.99

So i configured the EGO to a Linear WB and input those settings. At least the MSPNP2 knows where I'm at now.

After warm up, it appears that Im still running rich (TS knows that now). I manually input some lower figures into the VE table and was able to bring that down in the idle area rows to more stoich afrs. Isn't TS supposed to target AFR off the AFR table after coolant hits 160 degrees? Wondering why it's not targeting that figure. I think I have to register TS for this feature. Sorry for the noob questions, I've been out of the FI Miata game for a while. Kids are growing up now, and I'm back at it.

P.s.- an old xp laptop saved me here. My windows 8 laptop couldn't communicate with the LM works software.

I'm no expert but I think there's a feature in TS to use AFR tables.
