Just a quick comment: I sat in a Racetech RT-4009(which actually starts at $1090), but without the head restraints, and I am seriously considering buying one despite the heavier weight than the average Sparco and more $$, it was seriously the most comfortable seat I could ever imagine. I am broke and I might get one soon. It was that good.

Can you give me the cliff notes on Sparco Circuit vs Pro ADV?
Why one vs the other for the same money?

To me, it looks like the Pro ADV is a bigger seat for the most part. Circuit looks a bit smaller, and is probably lighter.

The new Pro ADV TS is slimmer than the regular Pro ADV, so that may make it a wash.

As far as how the seat fits, you just have to try it out. Just don't try a Racetech unless you are willing to spend the $$, for me it was an extremely comfortable seat that fit me like a glove, but now I want one so bad...

I'm 5'10", 155lbs, and I'm a bit long on the torso side (my head is about 1/2" away from hardtop with stock seat), and the Racetech fit me perfectly. Felt like the seat was custom molded for me.

But it's $1100 and almost 10lbs heavier than the Sparco Rev I may buy.

Decisions...

Racetech has American’s body sizes fit to a T. the 119 tall and wide fit’s me like a glove. But it’s north of 2k. 

circuit vs adv.

there are actually 4 seats. the circuit, circuit II, and the pro ADV, pro ADV ts

differences.

circuit, is for tiny guys. pants size smaller then a 32.
Sparco Circuit LF Fiberglass Racing Seat

circuit II, is for guy with a 34-36 pants size and under 6'2 tall
Sparco Circuit II LF Fiberglass Racing Seat - 2015 Model

the Pro ADV, is for bigger guys with Broad shoulders. pants size 36-38 (a 40 would fit snug)
Sparco Pro ADV LF Fiberglass Racing Seat

the ADV TS is the same size as the Pro ADV but it's shoulder wings are much smaller and allows it to fit easier into street cars. IMO if your car is gutted go with the PRO ADV, if you have a street car with door cards get the adv TS. Sparco Pro ADV TS Fiberglass Racing Seat - 2015 Model

All of the circuit's and the ADV ts have similar exterior shell size. the install into a miata should only need a big hammer. the ADV pro has the larger wings and takes a good amount of modifications to get it to fit into a miata.

The ADV TS looks great size wise, except for the shoulder (E) width. It is 55mm wider than some of the other Sparcos such as the medium ERGO.
Is the 630mm dimension correct?

What do you guys have that's more in entry level territory - $4-600?
I'm looking for something to go with a 5/6 pt harness & roll bar - but primarily for street use.

5'10" ~165lb

Looks like the Sparco Sprint, OMP TRS-E & Champ-R? any recommendation?

for you the sparco sprint would fit you well.

sprint Sparco Sprint Racing Seat

the TRS i recommend for my +200 lbs guys. the side are a bit wider and they fit big guys a little better. smaller drivers will slide around in the TRS.

trs OMP TRS-E Racing Seat

the champ is the first step into a fiberglass bucket. some of the steel frames can have pressure points around the steel. this can cause pain with some drivers. the easy solution is to go with a fiberglass bucket with a ergonomic shape. all sparco. OMP and RAcetech have ergonomic shaped buckets.

sparco's size guides are close. but not 100% perfect.
example sparco's size chart says the adv pro and adv ts are 630mm wide. 24.8=630mm
what we measured on the floor models.
ProADV outside width 25.00" Inside 23.00"
.ProADV TS outside 23.50" Inside 19.50"
EDIT!! ERGO M 23.50" outside

Will this actually fit in an NB with full interior? What off the shelf mounts do you have available for the Miata?

I can wedge my fatass into a Sparco Spint, but only after taking a high lift 4x4 jack and spreading the sides apart slightly to fit my ribcage into the seat. Its less than ideal.

here is the Trs in a miata with a full body. it's the older style, but it's the same frame. it should fit. this seat is mounted on top of custom seat mounts boted to the floor. i recommend doing the same. if your not that excited by the prospect of making your own we do have planted seat bases that sit fairly low.

i know exactly what your talking about. i have very wide shoulders (6' tall 225lbs) and did a lemons race with a sprint. 4 hours in the car and i was balled up afterwards. the wings dug into my back and left two very big bruise. everyone that raced with me was smaller 180-160lbs. they all thought the seat was fantastic.

with that combination you will be close to stock if not .25" higher. sliders add a good amount of height, almost .5"

If you want to get as low as possible use these. Planted low profile Seatbase Adapter - Mazda MX-5 Miata (NB) 1998-05 - Driver
+ the omp seat.

So, same base and same seat I linked but no slider? Does that base require removing the humps?

My drivers license says I'm 5'-08" but I can't clear the roll bar in a stock seat and helmet, and I'm closer than what I'm comfortable with using my borrowed foamectomy seat. Its less than ideal.
