Although I find it rather gauche, running one's MAF sensor post-compressor is not uncommon, and in some automotive circles is considered to be the "proper" way of doing it.

Not saying I'd elect to do it that way given a choice, but there's enough empirical evidence out there that we can credibly debunk claims that it's going to explode under boost.

I've also seen more than my fair share of boost leaks caused by blow through VAF setups on Mazdas. And VAFs are well..... metal.

I like anecdotes.

Relocating the maf from pre to post turbo is actually a common fix in the msm community. There is an entire kit designed around it that is suppose to aid in reducing the turbo lag tuned into the shitty stock ecu.

it's not even in the charge pipes, so you can stop manufacturing something else to bitch about...

We're just complaining in general right now. We all know that the Begi kit is a draw through.

So how exactly is this kit better than the others on the market? You claim 14% gains or whatever, but gains over what?

Can't really compare BEGi and FM dyno since FMS is ~5,000ft elevation, when my buddy moved from Colorado to Pennsylvania, he gained about 10% power and torque on the rollers.

And all this talk about stock injectors making power etc well why would anyone keep those wimpy things anyway? You think someone spending a few thousand on a turbo kit is really hell bent on running 265cc and doesn't want to upgrade? With the work to install a turbo kit, injectors are just another small mod. We're not dealing with OEM ecu cars running this kit.

Sounds like there's more work to be done.

Actually the ones that have the kits so far are reflashed stock ECU's, if you didn't see that.

Which can still be flashed for bigger injectors.

Sir,
Gains over our previous efforts at that boost pressure.

how --- better?
Please compare these items in detail:
Exhaust manifold
Turbo position (no frame cutting)
Remote wastegate
Gate position
Gate vent tube
Turbine outlet pipe configuration
Intercooler
Air intake
Oil/water lines to turbo

If not apparent, you are welcome to call me and I'll explain why I believe it is better

First some info about my car:
MX5 1992 1.6
- Schrick cams
- 500cc injectors
- Jenvey throttle bodies
- Alpha Omega turbo kit (garett 2560R)
- Largest intercooler (option from Begi)

Dyno run @ 165kPa (~9.4PSI):

Logging during dynorun:

So this setup gives me 200HP @ the crank.
60HP/70Nm more than without the turbo kit.

Currently I'm running @ 185kPa (~12.3PSI) and the car runs great.

Overall I'm pretty happy with this kit and also with the great service Beggi offered to me!

Some pictures what it looks like under the hood (during the build).

Dyno run video, car was making 200HP, the run on this video measured a lot of slipp. So the measurement was incorrect:
