i installed the spacer last night. I had to bend the heater hoses back about 1/2 inch and i also bent the metal shelf back. The shelf was not necessary to bend, but it made installation a lot easier.

I used some longer grade 8 studs that i sourced from a local distributor to mound the spacer and downpipe. They where 80mm studs, but i had to cut about 5-7mm off the lower two to make it easier to install the nuts.

Random bit of misfortune, i kinked the oil drain hose while i was reinstalling the turbo. i didn't notice it until i started it up and found my self in a huge cloud of oily smoke. I doubt that this would have happened if the oil drain hose was steel breaded like all the other turbo hoses i got from BEGI. Is there a reason why this hose is not braided? I hope that i didn't cause any major damage to the turbo when i did this.

After i fixed the oil drain issue, i went out for another drive. It was still smokey just not as bad. I assume that this was leftover oil in the the exhaust. With the wastegate actuator in the same position that i had it in previously (6.5psi) it was now producing 4.5 or so psi. So i know that i am now getting much more flow out of the wastegate than i had before. The spacer does work. The wastegate arm now deflects roughly 90 degrees from closed position.

On a side note, i did have to grind 1/8 to 1/4 of material off of the top exterior portion of the spacer and downpipe so that the wastegate arm would not hit them.

I still have not done very extensive testing since i finished this project rather late. I did not take the motor through it's entire rev range so i don't have much in terms of performance to report. i will update on that once i put a few miles on her.
