Default greddy manifold thread depth

ok so my greddy turbo and manifold have come off today for the first time in about 7 years, one bolt was sheared off after running 20psi and driving like a hooligan for an afternoon. I think i'm going to have the holes drilled and tapped for 10mm studs. how deep should i have them drill? would it be a bad thing to drill far enough so that the threads protrude into the manifold collector cavity?

and how deep do the threads go in the greddy manifold? i have new bolts but they all thread in different depths

ok so i was paranoid, all is well and i was able to drill out the sheared off one and vice gripped out one that i broke the head off of and bent. The problem is my tap that i was using to clean out the holes is tapered at the end and won't chase the holes to the bottom so i'll have to grab another this weekend.

funny thing is that all the bolts were stretched and the turbo was loose and able to move around a little bit before i even started taking any out.

Gently grind the first few rounds off of the tap, just make sure that you dont over heat the tap& you keep it square. It is commmon practice in all but the most critical of applications. You will be Ok,in this instance.you will save time and money as well as develop another skill

WTF? I swear I just posted that, must not of pressed "post". Yes, grind down the tapered tap, its a much cheaper method than buying a $150 spiral flute tap. Just don't do any high speed tapping with it! We do it all the time at work for a good bottom tap, but generally only for chasing threads.
