Default BEG-S Question

So -

I start and idle fine. I don't see any vacuum leaks. Motor sounds smooth.

Questions:

1. With the car idling, I see -20 (vacuum) on the boost gauge. When I blip the throttle up to about 2-3k rpm, the manifold pressure rises to zero, but never makes boost. I also do not see the actuator arm on the waste gate move. Shouldn't I expect to see boost? I'm running the 2554.

2. At idle, I see 25psi of fuel pressure. When I blip the throttle, I see a few pounds more. When I disconnect the signal line, I see 35 pounds. When I crimp the return line, I see 85lbs. I think this is telling me that the fuel pump is capable of delivering enough fuel. The instructions suggest re-calibrating the AFPR when the unplugged signal line doesn't produce 50, but it's not clear if it should also be adjusted up if the base PSI is low. Thoughts?

Thanks for your thoughts!
Jim

1. It's not gonna produce boost in neutral. You need a load on the engine. Otherwise it just spins up as quickly as air is pumped into it.

2. I don't play with bandaids so I can't answer that question.

Default Talked to Corky...

(for the search engine)

I spoke with Corky. He thinks the fuel gauge may be reading low at idle. He suggested I adjust pressure up with the signal line disconnected to 50psi, and then road test with the a careful eye on both the boost gauge and fuel pressure, making sure that as the boost crosses 0, the fuel pressure builds appropriately.

I'll let you know what I find.
