Default BEGI ships early!

W00t!

BEGI shipped my BEGI-S for my 93LE ahead of schedule by 2 weeks!
I do love a company that exceeds their promises. I got shipment notification from UPS.

I'm so psyched.

Rock on BEGI!

Default About 2 weeks ago <eom>

Which is pretty darn quick for a kit of this complexity...

If you think an S kit is complex you should see an S5 kit.

3 months seems about right...and about 3 shipments to make it a complete kit. I don't mind the wait...as long as I know its going to be that long.

What is holding up your order? Which kit did you order?

Slightly different circumstances. The system is changing after we had initially shipped it.

The 1.6L kit shipped because we had manifolds. The 1.8L manifolds have been delayed due to a foundry issue. They poured 50 manifolds then had to trash them as they did not pass in house inspection. We are receiving manifolds now and getting them machined, but being down 50 manifolds puts a crimp in things. And, no, the foundry does not usually have this problem. They make great castings, and I guess we are feeling the reasons as to why. If they trashed them, I obviously do not want them to sell to other folks.

On a related note, we are doing our best to ship BEGI-S kits in two weeks (when the manifolds and turbos are not on back order).

Slightly different circumstances. The system is changing after we had initially shipped it.

Yeah, my 1.6l S2 shipped in 3 months without a few parts, the fuel system/carb sticker/air scooper. So I called them up and talked myself into changing it into a MS option. Not sure how long getting the BEGI fuel system and scooper would have added, but now I am on the waiting list for the MS conversion parts.

My feeling on the time from placing the order to receiving it is this: Ignore any delivery time statements when you order. Just give them your CC number and you get an extremely nicely made kit by the time you forgot you ordered it.
Its kinda like finding a 100 dollar bill in a jacket you haven't worn in a year or so. Sure maybe you could have used it a few months ago, but isn't it so nice to find it now.

Although, the weather is great, and my miata is up on stands in the garage.

But damn it will be fast with a well engineered built piece of kit under the hood when its done.

BTW I still say order from BEGI, no matter how much I whine!

Thanks guys, for putting up with a few delays. Most of which are of our own making.

Well I'm happy to confirm that the title of this topic was completely true in my case!

I placed my order 9-10/6/2008 and while I received no answer/notification through email my Begi-S kit was delivered at my friends place in US at 25/6/2008 and yesterday the package arrived in Greece.

First impression is really good and all the main items in the kit are very high quality(manifold, downpipe)! Big thumbs up from an...international customer definitely sending more miata friends your way!

That actually sounds pretty good, a two week turnaround time from a small shop seems wonderful.

damn, you only live like 10 minutes away from me...you could have swung by and checked the begi kit, but I'm in another area code now, in a land far, far away. I'll return in December.
