I was at the track last Wed. And this guy had one on his car.
His manifold was Welded, and welded, and welded, and welded, and he said he blew his turbo from like 12psi? the manifold was ugly, he had hella welds on it

Don't do it.
Do a search for ebay turbo and read your head off. There is nothing good to be said about them.

Default Ebay Kit

I have put together a kit similar to the one on ebay for a lot less and with a better manifold the 16g turbo I do like. I used to have an Eclipse and I upgraded to the big 16g or TDO5H. I ran the **** out of this turbo with no problems but, getting the right fittings for this application is a bit of a task but can be done relatively cheep. All together the 16g is a pretty good turbo in my eyes but just be cautious on what setup you run with it. I’m still working the bugs out of mine right now. If you wanted to go the easy way check out the forums on here there is tons of awesome info you can learn from. But if i had it to do all over I would have gone with a greddy kit to start with and work my way up.

The manifold and DP are junk... read the threads. Search.

Mike, welcome to the forum... please check out the "Hey you NOOB" announcement at the top of every page and follow the helpful hints in there. Also, have you read the "FAQ" on the DIY page? It explains everything you need to know about turbo'ing your Miata.

Please dont buy the ebay 16g special. Get a genuine mhi 16g if you want a turbo that will last forever.

bracing the mani and turbo would of been my first option because the mani is made up of stainless tubes(thin) and not cast...the turbo on the other hand is a hit and miss...good and bad experiences...

You are right a piece of 1/8th inch steel worked like a charm. +1 on a authentic OE mitsu 16g
