Any ballpark on price and what all will be included? Will it just be the manifold/turbo/downpipe?

I was very close to buying an ND off the lot or ordering one, but a fast, turbo, street PRHT NC and keeping my 01 as a track car would cost about the same and be multi-purpose...

We're aiming to price it competitively but at this point I can't even shoot form the hips until we start to make complete kits and produce them in higher volume.

It will be a relatively complete hardware kit, battery solution, intercooler, manifold, downpipe, charge pipes, turbo and even an add on tuning solution with a fuel package.

Who builds your downpipes? Do you give them a finished hand fabbed/prototype that they digitize or do you give them a CAD model? Just wondering. I have no interest in getting back into it.

Great job FAB!

EDIT: really interested in how the EFR 6758 works with the 2.5.

this. I can't think of a cooler daily driver miata.
insta-boost, insta-torque

i'd even do a 6258 because of my weird fetish for lowend torque

We jig based on the hand fabbed prototype.

A little more progress today, we've determined placement - it's a tight fit as the IWG EFR is quite a bit bigger than the EWG configuration. With that locked down the manifold collector can be produced and it came out looking like jewelry.

I've seen flanges like that for other cars, but not the miata. Huge fan of the minimalist designs. Gets rid of a lot of the expansion issues people add relief cuts for on the standard flanges.

I received word a short while ago that I've made it into the Fab9 pre-production testing group.

Awww.
Yisss.

Unless it makes everyone on this forum stupidly angry, I'll maintain the detailed build thread over here on the Miata.net build sub-forum but will continue to post summary updates in this thread and in Fab9's turbo kit thread on M.NET.

My FM brakes haven't shipped just yet, but now I need to hurry my butt up and get the wheels, tires, clutch ordered and installed. I also want to get the radiator and oil cooler ordered and primed to install along with the rest of the kit... Good thing my annual company bonus pays on in the second week of October

You might want to consider making a Build Thread here on Miataturbo.net. This will become especially useful if you run into issues down the road and need request help or insight. There are some very knowledgeable members here the more info you post here, the easier it'll be to enlist their help. Just a thought, it's up to you though.

I suppose that makes sense, just a bunch more cross-posting between forums

If we're going to get snarky: people with detailed questions: follow URL, not difficult. Easier even then reposting every update

That's only if we're going to be snarky, though. I may build a turbo-specific build thread here on this forum, just because (obviously) the folks who know boost are over on this side of the fence. It's certainly worth my while to facilitate the discussion over here

The problem, is that most of us don't visit that site. Ever.
Not even being snarky or joking, or anything.
This place has everything most of us need

It'd be a shame not to see progress of your nice NC

Copy/Pasting bbcode updates would be super easy. But oh wait, the new text editor doesn't let you do that....

The intercooler of choice is a Vibrant core - full bar/plate with their latest high density fin design.

We've designed end tanks in CAD and are waiting for the waterjet work to be completed. To ensure fitment we've mocked up end tanks and everything checks out. These cores are perfect for the power output range expected for this kit. From the guys running stock internals and lower boost to the forged 500hp setups. At some point we will explore a 550hp+ option with the same charge pipe locations.

We continue to receive PM/Emails related to beta participation - As soon as we have a more accurate ETA on these kits we will offer limited pre-order participation available through our website.

Are you possibly considering optional IC and/or charge pipes colored with black ceramic / powdercoat? I intend to keep my whole car on the sleeper DL wherever feasible. Even if it's not something you guys are intending at the outset, I'll probably grab all the charge pipes and the IC and have them professionally coated in a matte black.

By the way, that's a good lookin' intercooler

The first customer also requested black - we will indeed have coatings available.

Woooo! Feel free to sign me up / bill me for the black coating if you're amenable to offering it on the pre-prod kits.
