Hmm that's something that might be good to know, but why would you wanna change the blow off valve? I thought it was a pretty decent one.

It's a great valve. But I want to be a loud rice-boy, part of the turbo dream you know?
I'm going to get a real BOV, but one with a sound I like.

Yeah, Been looking at BOV's, wanted the Greddy type S, but it's no longer made, and the Greddy Type FV is 309*$ CAD!!! Looking to spend 1/3 less.. ie, between 100-150USD.

i ran an ebay HKS SSQV and it worked just fine, didnt bleed at idle, and sounded nice and loud. cost around $50 including the aluminum pipe with a welded flange

I'm running the AliExpress/Ebay Greddy FV with no issues. It sounds great!

So I shouldn't be afraid of Ebay replicas for BOV's?
Conflicting information....

The FM's plumb is made for the Turbosmart Kompact 34mm BOV. there is a vented to atomsphere version so you will get your pssttt sounds.
eBay replicas lasts no more than two months.

Higher rate of failure with the Ebay stuff and they generally wear out faster. Most people have only their own experience with one Ebay BOV to go off of, which is why each person has a different opinion of whether they are decent or not. One person's success story does not guarantee you won't get a dud like the next guy, so it's a gamble. Overall, I recommend against them. I had a Greddy Type S knock-off, worked for a few months and then the diaphragm gave out. Turned out a refresh kit for an actual Type S didn't work for the internals of the Ebay one I had. I sucked it up and bought a legit Type S from Greddy USA's garage sale several few years back and it is still kickin'.

Quick update, got the kit.
The FM website is so much better with the no electronics kit now, build your own, and call them to spec it out further.
Got the elbow for recirc, but also got a plug to fit to it. Also got plugs and the PCV that can take boost.
They were super helpful, as a result, I drove a boosted miata for the first time yesterday, MY boosted miata.
