Need Help - oil supply tap MIA
Installing the basic GReddy 1.6 turbo kit.
The oil supply tap is MIA. (Tap that is inserted into the engine crate and further to the braided supply line). I need to find a replacement. Could someone please let me know which tap is a direct replacement for the one that comes with the kit? Or tap thread measurements and a possible location where to buy.
I did a search and found a link to an plumbings site. But i am not sure which tap to order.

Are you trying to tap the block itself?
Thats not the right thing to do. You need to make a new oil feed line that can run from the oil pressure sender on the other side of the engine.
Or are you looking for the fitting that threads into the block?

I am hoping to retain the line. would 10Mx1.5 -3AN let me do that? or do i need to order -4AN?

Got the oil fitting today. Fit like a glove. Thanks to everyone for their input.
More problems elsewhere thou...
1. Oil leaking from the banjo fitting on turbo. I've put two copper washers as per instructions. One between the turbo and the fitting. One between the bolt and banjo fitting. At first I was getting oil from the bolt to banjo connection. Tightened that. Now getting oil from the banjo to turbo... I am afraid to overtighten. I am thinking of buying new washers... What kind to get and where?
2. Seems that my exhaust manifold gasket isn't doing it's job anymore. Car sounds awsome, but the sound is coming from all the wrong places. Looks like an exhaust leak from the block to manifold between 2nd and 3rd headers. Could this be caused by "releif cuts"? I made 3 as per recommendations on this and other sites. Has anyone experiences that?? Most likely it is the gasket, but I wanted to see if anyone had seen this happen before. All the bolts were tighted as much as humanly possible. Some are extremly tought to get to even using professional tools...

You may find the copper washers at an auto parts store.
Are you sure that you didn't pinch the bracket for the water return line from the heater core between the manifold and block. Some of us have.:gay:

I was actulally sticking my ear in there... feels kinda hot I am sure your way is safer and more accurate, but it definetly sounds like the manifold to block. My bet is on the water line bracket. I wont be able to try it all out till Saturday. Just getting all the parts that maybe needed for the weekend. Replacement bolts and gaskets...

When I had a pretty significant exhaust leak at the manifold/turbo flange I could swear it was coming from the manifo/block flange. But when I did the trick with the vacuum line it showed me exactly where it was. Just don't want you to tear it all apart only to find out the leak was in a different location.

Btw. Mine doesn't sound like a small leak. It sounds like I don't have any muffler. Very nice and laud. If it were coming from the back of the car, I would keep it :-)
