Default Greddy Turbo to DP gasket - yes again!

Yes I know there's a million threads about this but no one has successfully gotten the mitsu gasket to work but there was someone who tried and said it didn't. I had my DP and turbo thermal coated and there's an exhaust leaks between them. I'm guessing the thermal coating is what's causing the leak. Anyone who has a gasket is their car can tell me where to get one?

Thanks,

t.t.

They coated the mating surfaces? I don't think that's right.

for the manifold to turbo....

footprint is a t25, outlet is a t04d.

300zx uses a t25, 2000gt uses a t04d.

Trey, I've been running no gaskets on both sides of the turbine housing for a long time and haven't had any leaks. If you have a way to lap them (800 grit sandpaper and FLAT piece of glass/MDF/etc) it'll work way better than any gasket.

I'm going no gasket this time around, the 3rd one just had a blow through. **** gaskets, sand the **** off and bolt them together.

hmm ok I'll give lapping a try. Incase it doesn't work I ordered a gasket kit from ebay. It looks like a better fit than the 3000GT VR4

I saw that auction too and wondered if it would fit, looks like it will.

I'm tired of the ******* gaskets either blowing through or just straight blowing apart. The side of my valve cover is a mess cause of the damn gasket.

Sand it and use the copper RTV and no gasket.

Interesting...

That does look exactly like the downpipe gasket that comes with the Greddy kit, though I've never seen a gasket between the manifold and turbo on a Greddy before. One presumes that the mating surfaces of those two components are sufficiently flat...

what's the original greddy gasket made of? the ebay one looks like multi layered sheet metal like the stock engine head to manifold gasket.

I can't remember if it was a single layer or multi-layered, but it's all metal.

Y8s, are you running gaskets on your wastegate flanges? I think i'll sand them flat and run without them as well.
