And I'm curious why this is in the DIY instead of the general Miata section??

well the redline and peak power is spot on....the mph in each gear is a little off, my 1st is around 45-50, 2nd 60ish, and so on....however, the rpm drop is WAAAAAY OFF......

I used the STi V6 RA ratios from Rallispec;
http://www.rallispec.com/Subaru%20Gear%20Chart.htm

The biggest difference is the stock RA had 16" wheels compared to your 18". If I put in the stock 16" dimension I get the same numbers as rallispec. I don't know where the difference comes in when getting numbers in your tire size. Some tires are a bit different in dimensions even though they say 225/40, but nothing that should be way off.

Here it is using the v6 RA gears with 06/07 WRX FD of 3.7 and 18s:

Who knows, not too big a deal I was just wondering where a 4.44 FD got you in the 1/4 mile. If you don't want to shift in to 5th gearcalc says you'll top out 4th@105.

heh guess I wasn't done thread jacking

last time i was at the track about a month ago, with a horrible launch and slow shifting trapped 109+ and never shifted into 5th.

Default Me vs WRX Stg 2

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ctZK63LPdHY

Me vs a Stg II WRX w/ 3" DP and exhaust. He has run several STi's and has pulled them by 1/2 car or been dead even with them. I watched him race one that he pulled 1/2 car on from 40-110mph.

The first race was from 50mph, and I was in 3d, cause I didn't want to use 2d. Second run was from 40, and I started in 2d.

This was on my way home after installing the FMIC, and running 7psi on the Greddy kit (148whp).

This is a friend of mine that I have raced about 5 times. Everytime I modded something, I ran him to see where I was.

Stock vs WRX - 10-15+ cars
Greddy vs WRX - 4-5 cars
Greddy w/ 2.5" turboback - 2 cars
Greddy... @8psi - 1 car
Greddy ...w/FMIC @ 7psi - even

That was our last race, he went to jail for streetracing a week later. Now that I have leaned it out from 8:1 AF to 11:1 under boost, and running 8psi, I have beaten a few cars that he got beat by.

If you paid attention to my post, you would see that that WRX has run several STi's and been dead even or pulled 1/2 car on them. The STi's were mostly stock, so his WRX was just as fast as an STi.

yeah that is bullshit.....i beleive he beat some sti's, but a stage 2 wrx IS NOT faster than an sti unless it is protuned or the sti driver sucks big time.....we can argue all you want, but go on nasioc and tell them that a basic stg 2 ots flash 2.0L wrx will beat an sti and they will laugh at you and call you a dumbass......
average driven sti traps at least 102-103 on AVERAGE, the best stg2 2.0L wrx driven GOOD traps anywhere from 98-101 the average being 99.....thats 4 miles difference. i had a 05 2.0L stg 2 wrx and took it to the track many times, beleive me i know. (as well as have many many friends with them. check this site: www.sacforcefed.com) and now have my current ride, and the difference between a 2.0L wrx and a 2.5 is ridiculous........
