Default Mixing clutch parts: OEM disc, ACT pressure plate

Has anybody ever tried (or had to) use an aftermarket pressure plate with an OEM/OEM style disc successfully? I'm not a big fan of chattery discs, but I don't mind a stiff pedal.

I have an OEM style replacement disc and pressure plate from NAPA, but I'm going to be turboing the Miata in the upcoming month or two, and I want to have something that's cost effective, easy to street drive (can be slipped without shaking the car apart), and can hold the power I eventually want to build up to (12 psi or 220 hp, whichever comes first).

Here's what I want to pair up:
ACT Xtreme pressure plate
NAPA oem replacement clutch disc

However, if I can get a good deal on a HD00 clutch from ACT, it's good for 200ftlb of torque ... but is that more or less than what would be achieved from the XT pressure plate and a NAPA disc?

Thanks for the help!

all the ACT "street disc" kits use an OEM exedy disc.

but herelies the problem....buying the ACT PP costs just as much as the kit (PP, Disc, TOB, & tool).....

there's nothing wrong with your idea of pairing the two, but unless you get a better deal in the end, I suspect the point is mute...

see prostreetonline.com for prices on kits and just PPs.

Exactly what Braineack said. I just did the ACT Xtreme PP and its a stock exedy disc that comes with the "street disc". It does feel nice and it comes with pilot and release bearings and a neat little tool.
