Default eBay universal IC pipe kits

Anyone used these? I thought i saw one person who'd installed them. I'm assuming welded would be better, but at relatively low stock Greddy PSI would that matter all that much? Also, has anyone seen a good source for shorter pipes that already have fitments for a BOV and oil recirc?

Cheers, Jon

I was thinking the same thing....you would probably have to use more silicone couplers than a "normal" setup, but I'm not sure if you would get all the bends your would need.

Buying one of these kits is on my TO DO list when I get the money. My IC inlet piping is not mandrel bent and I would really like it to be.

There are different kits with different sets of pipes. One slightly pricier kit also included t-clamps instead of the cheapos. I suppose you'd need to do some cutting as well as fitting an oil return on one of the pipes. I think some vendors actually sell pipe with various taps.

Aside from buying the I/C kit sold round these parts

I have an ebay purchased diy pipe kit with (actually decent) couplers and t-bolt clamps. 2.5, black 6061 Aluminum. See if I can find it if you want..

You will need to bead the pipes yourself, however.

For pipes that already have fitments for the BOV, you're going to need a kit for a Miata. If you are just looking for a universal pipe with a bov flange, I've used this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-5-I...27052868QQrdZ1

Is that what you meant? Not sure about that oil recirc..

i bought one of these kits a little while back and am very pleased w/ it. I opted to find one seller who sold the silicone couplers w/ t-clamps and also two pipes of each bend. For the vacum lines and bov i got a local machine shop to do it for $10 and i provided the flange for the bov. If you like do it yourself kinda stuff (which i do) then go ahead and give the kit a try, all you'll need is a sharpie, ruler, and a sawsall and your good to go.

Yeah! That's what I was hoping to hear. What size IC are you using and where did you route the pipes?

Are you talking about the Stripes kit? Also, as to oil recirc--where do the tiny amounts of oil that flow through the intake exit on your system, or do you just let it burn?

Put a small, clear fuel filter in that hose. This allows for proper ventilation, while catching any excess oil. Being "clear" allows you to monitor the status.

Good question! Wish I'd asked it in the first place.
