Default Beat a modded 3000GT VR4..

I dunno if I should even be surprised.. IIRC those things are made out of lead, lmao.

Anyway, I completely walked him from a 3rd gear roll :gay: He was surprised to find out I was turbo (should have been obvious from the FMIC and the PSHSH sounds) and even more surprised that I'm only running 5 psi.

Also, I experienced my first clutch slip today (stock clutch). Stuck it in fifth and hit the redline damn near instantly. Good thing I'm putting the ACT in next week.

I raced a 240sx with a huge FMIC and no BOV with what sounded like a huge turbo. Gobbled like crazy. He couldn't pull away from me even though I bounced off the limiter in first and then shortshifted to third at only 5k rpms. The look on his face was priceless.

I just got my ACT XT with a street disc today. Putting it in this weekend.
I'm tired of not being able to launch above 3k rpms. And yeah, it has slipped a few times.

thats because his turbo was running backwards :gay:
he did win a nopi event though

if its worth anything, my stock '90 with a whining transmission beat up on an 86 firebird today, should have started from first or second though, starting at the top of third isn't very rewarding

How bout the version with a roots blower on it? My Ex had a fully loaded bonneville SSEI. That thing was a monster. At least that's what I thought until I turboed the miata :P

bonneville/grand prix with a 3.6 SC is just as fast as a 88-93 5.0 Mustang...which we all know are nothing special.

I generally do not instigate street races, however I will usually respond if challenged by something less than a Carerra or a Z8, even if I expect to lose. (I learned recently that an Audi A4 Quattro is not to be taken lightly when the ground is moist)

'Round here we've got a lot of nouveau riche (or nouveau debt) and consequently loads of young (20's - 30's) guys with boring jobs and well-pressed shirts buying new G35s, SCs, TTs, and the like. They seem to make a sport of provoking street races against kids in Hondas with large tailpipes and wire-spoke wheels. I can respect that (dissing punks w/ fartpipes) but every now and then one of these guys finds it necessary to pull alongside my old, stock-looking Miata and blip the throttle once or twice, or come screaming up behind you on a double-lane road, then slow to pace.

Under those circumstances, I just can't resist. It's just too much fun when you look over at the other driver as you gradually inch away from his $65,000 SC430 in your little girly car. 317 ft/lbs and 288 HP sounds like a lot when your Lexus dealer is telling you about it- but so does 3,840 lbs curb weight.

I ran a friend in a 03 or 04 Accord V6 Coupe 6-spd. He had test pipe and intake, dyno'd 216whp/201tq on a Mustang Dyno in 101deg.

We did 4 runs, all from 40, and we were dead even thru 2d and 3d, I would pull 1/2 to 3/4 car in 4th, then he would pull back in 5th till we were even at 130mph.

Ran another friend in a 95 Stang GT who made 310whp. From a 20 roll, he got me by 1.5 cars by 110.

My goal for the car was to beat an automatic C5 and a GXP. Did both at the dragstrip but just enough with my nasty 60 fts. Otherwise, no street racing except friends on long stretches of straight open farm road. They usually win. Racing strangers up here is dangerous for many reasons.

I ended up next to a late model 911 conv't on a freeway onramp that goes from 2-1 lanes. We went from about 20-110mph, with me just barely ahead. The guy and his wife gave me a thumbs up afterwards.

meh, the only cars that try to race me are idiots in trucks or minivans....

I tried to run a 911 carerra on my way home from the CR@the gap last weekend. I figured it would be a good run with me having the boost turned down to 10psi. But dude wouldn't even give me the time of day..... rich bastards :(

I've taken my stock miata with cali. emissions on it to the local 1/8 and won 2/4 races. I thought it was funny being the only umodded car there and taking some wins. But cant wait till next spring to run with the DSM's. Cauz its the fast's cars around here. lol
