The purpose of the O2 clamp is to interrupt the normal signal from the oxygen sensor to the ECU and substitute a synthetic signal that will either stop the ECU from trying to lean out the mixture you have enriched as you go into boost, or even forcing your ECU to deliver more fuel as the transition from vacuum to boost is made. It will affect the operation of the ECU ONLY until it goes into open loop where it (the ECU)then ignores the signal from the oxygen sensor and relies on pre-programmed internal maps.

First, SAE, welcome aboard!!! And welcome to a really great forum. The guys here are a great crew and really know their **** (except me). I'm sure you've already found Braineaks Sticky which is the third one in the DIY forum entitled DIY FaQ - All your answers in one big post but I've been waiting to unleash this little gem linked below, so thanks for a perfect opportunity.
