Default I miss my GReddy....

Its been about 3 1/2 years since I got rid of my GReddy kit. It was my first turbo kit and I guess its kinda got a special place in my heart. I can never forget how hard that turbo would hit from 3500-3800rpm. It would go from like 5psi to 15psi in the blink of an eye in that rpm range, kinda would slingshot you and none of the other turbos I have run feel like that. The T3 S60 spooled so fast and smooth that you dont get that surge, the GT3271 I have now spools very linear but once its on full boost it just plants you into the seat and keeps you there. I miss that 15G so much that I almost want to find a cheap *** 1.6L car and just turbo it again, maybe with a greddy or maybe with a T3 setup again. It would be my daily driver ( and im sure extremely reliable...HA...HAHAHAHA ) I really do miss the 1.6L and greddy though...maybe Ill do one again some time in the near future.

I hear what you are saying. I must agree that the rush of power from the 15G, while not as linear (which probably produces more power) as other turbos, is lots of fun. When that turbo kicks in, it almost feels more like a huge shot of nitrous.

As much as people have bashed the kit in the past, it is a great starting place for newbies. For less than 3K invested (including a better clutch, exhaust, rollbar, larger 1.8 brakes), I have power equal to, if not greater than a lot of kits out there for a whole lot less. Plus, a free "education" which is both a plus and minus.

Yeah, they've impressed me by how easy it is to upgrade and make good power off of, for less than a FM kit or similar.

Even at my pitiful 5psi I know what you're saying about the immediacy with which it hits! Just nothing, nothing, nothing WHAM!!!

yeah, its an odd feeling when that turbo hits. People used to tell me it was small when I would show them under the hood. Then I would race them and just blow their doors off.
