Greetings. I'm de-turboing the wife's '95 with BEGI S-2 turbo and will need to plug the oil return line. The line I'm talking about is here:

I figure there are two easy ways to do it; by removing the feed fitting from the oil pan and replacing it with a plug, or with a cap over the fitting and leaving the fitting installed into the pan.

Without calling BEGI, does anyone know off-hand what size plug or cap I need, and were I might get one without too much trouble? Thanks

i would keep the tap in the pan and just plug it. what size are the oil lines? look for the same size cap.

I called BEGI and it turns out the fitting into the Miata pan is made with a 3/8-inch NPT thread. I'll pick up an aluminum 3/8-inch plug from Summit or JEGs, and I'll be good to go.

Selling the wife's car; she's got a bad shoulder and her shifting days are coming to a close; I see a E39 in her future.. I figure I'll get more by selling the turbo (BEGI S-2) and car (95 Miata) separately.

I was thinking an aluminum plug was the way to go because the pan is aluminum and compatible expansion rates will keep the plug where it belongs over the long haul. I'd be surprised if I found an aluminum plug at Home Depot, but you never know.

You won't find an aluminum plug at the hardware store, but ACE Hardware should have brass plugs.

The thermal expansion rate of brass is nearly identical to that of most aluminum alloys.

Pretty sure the plug I got at ACE for the same thing was aluminum (looked like it was cast). It was about $1.
