Default Bocsh BOV fart sound?

I've running the VTA since I am now MAP based. I have a small K&N on the port that VTA. When I drive easy I get a nice subtle whoosh, but if I'm on it hard and snap the throttle closed I get a hi pitched honkying farting noise.

Would this sound be caused by the filter, or maybe internally in the BOV itself? It doesn't do it exactly the same every time, but quite often. I'm going to pop the filter off and see if that changes things.

Any thoughts?

I'm running the bosch bov with a filter on it and it only makes the whoosh noise- no honking. I've run it from 8-12psi and it always sounded the same. At 15psi it starts leaking and makes a higher pitched whoosh the entire time I'm at peak boost.

I've got an older one I'll swap in and see if it does the same thing. Looks like I might be in the market for a new BOV.

Pat, you sell Forge BOV? Would you ship to Canada?

Thanks guys.

I'm not sure what I'm after. Nothing fancy, just something that doesn't suck and is more on the quiet stealthy side. Oh ya, did I mention cheap?

Maybe we should set up a BOV GB? Seems lots of folks need to replace their Bosches.

Has anyone tired to get a check valve from lowes lately?

My Lowes no longer carries the 3/4 check valve

Don't need the check valve in my case since I don't car if it leaks at idle. Any plumbing store that deals with sump pumps and such should be able to source you a check valve.

I'll get with Pat about it, though from what I understand, he already gives a pretty healthy discount on single purchases.
