Help
Does anyone know anybody at Greddy. My exhaust manifold needs replaced.
When installing the turbo to the exhaust manifold 1 of the bolts sheared. My guess at this point is the kit was sent with bolts that were too long. I come to this conclution because I have now, after dissasmeble, installed the bolts and there is more space left between the washer and the turbo manifold.
Anyway I replaced the sheered bolt with a Grade 8 hex head bolt. After 100 miles , that bolt was ripped out and stripped the threads on the exhaust manifold.
I have two choices, Hope Greddy will replace the manifold, or have the stripped hole re threaded. I have someone where I work that can do that,
Any Info is greatly appreciated.

Take it to a local engine rebuilder/machine shop and have him drill and tap them all to 3/8". He'll have to also enlarge the holes on the turbo flange. Buy exhaust studs and use those. You'll likely have to trim the studs down a bit to make everything fit. I'll go take a quick shot of my manifold with turbo installed.
I think 3/8" is about as big as you'll be able to go and still get nuts on the studs.
1) Clearance is pretty tight.
2) 3/8" is significantly larger than 8mm, and easier to source.
3) Swanky wastegate spring with turnbuckle.

I went an purchases a heli coli kit at the local car quest . I used the drill press at the airline maint hanger and then tapped the hole. The kit came with a tool to insert the heli coil (new threads). I just used the same M8 x 1.25 because I had already done this b4 reading todays posts. Thx for the help.
