Default Can I clean my own injectors?

I have some 1.8 inj from my old Protege GT that I would like to install on the 1.6l while reinstalling the head. It will be non turbo for a few months then i will turbo it, first of all will that be an issue? (I didnt think so )

Next can I clean the injectors myself?

thanks again

Putting 1.8 injectors on should not cause any problems. It used to be a very common upgreade. As to cleaning them yourself, I'll defer to others on that since I've never heard of it being done.

Before you jump on that however, how about some details as to your proposed engine management setup for the turbo build. If you are planning on an AFPR or Voodoo / PC based system then the 1.8s are an adequate solution, but if you have the budget for a piggyback ECU then you would be better served with larger injectors.

most places will sell a little kit...you basically shoot cleaner through the injector....the only downside is you dont have the benefit of having them serviced & flowed as well as cleaned.
