And to clarify, the miata ECU (stock) is completely unmoddable. A few folks have changed the crystal frequency (by soldering a new one), there by upping the rev limit. It's an unknown factor though, the same crystal won't make the same change on two different miatas.
Hes not running MS and i'm guessing no wideband either since "only boost gauge"

As far as the crystal mod... that usually leans afrs even worse... +14afrs are common at wot (NA) after the crystal mod is done to reise the revs to +7.5k rpm.

Also IN before the blown motor!!!

---- I know!

I meant Fooger, apparently.

We should really be able to change the colors of those avatars, it's way too confusing with them all being pink.

Just got the car back from getting the manifold repaired. Have not had a chance to look at the ecu yet but here's a pic of the injectors.

Those look to be 305cc injectors. Good pictures of the engine bay and ECU area may help us to identify what you have.

Looks like I am running Megasquirt which is a good sign... But what's up with the setup to 99-2000?

They can be modified. Now I'm worried about your injectors. Unless someone painted them, the 305s we think they are, are a little small.

Injectors look to be unpainted. Are these off the 7M-GE supra? What would be the next plug and play step up in injector size that would provide enough flow at 5-6psi?

Looks like the 90-92 626 uses 326cc, uses the F connecter and is plug and play. Would those be adequate? And the better question is would they be easy to find?

I went to get the car smogged today and failed the 15mph test. It's running super rich at lower rpm's or so the smog tech told me. Looks like I need to get some data logging going on the megasquirt. Thanks for all your help so far.

300cc injectors on 6psi is plenty for a 1.6 guys.

i ran the stock 240s on my 1.8 at 6psi and it only started maxing them out at 6k rpm. (at 7k rpm i was at ~12.3afr)

If the 305s are as sufficient as tripple says, than don't upgrade unless you plan on upping your boost. If you're planning on doing that though, there's no point in upgrading to anything less than a 440+ injector. Between the RX7 and RX8, you have a number of 440, 450, 460, and 480(?) options available.

Planning on staying at 5psi 6 max I think. Trying to determine if this car is running a wideband just maybe without a gauge. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to look and confirm if it indeed does have a wideband on it?

I have never used megasquirt before. I downloaded megatune and I guess I have it setup properly. Is there a wideband option I check or when I plug in a laptop will the wideband just automatically respond?

you need to configure the wideband.

But dump MegaTune and use TunerStudio instead. MegaTune is no longer supported

Hey man, RTFM. And I mean that in the kindest way. Nobody will explain to you what has already been explained in great detail in the manual.

Otherwise glad you actually have some EMS on that beast, from the start of this thread I would of assumed you were on a ghetto band-aid setup that was about to explode.

I actually figured out the problem, It registered more on the boost gauge after The turbo leak was fixed. The Boost controller on the car was broken and not regulating the boost pressure so the psi after getting the turbo fixed would spike to 15psi.

I ran a vacuum line from the turbo to wastegate and the car runs great now. Took lots of Testing and messing with things but the motor runs smooth now. Thanks for everyone's help!

Boost controller probably wasnt broken.. it was just adjusted to 15 psi.

Seeing as how I turned the **** to the point where it almost fell off it was so loose and no registered change in boost pressure I would say that the diaphragm was broken.
