the pistons are gunky, but all looks good. once all is back together they could use a bath of water injection via TB vacuum line.

so you got the head off alright I see. Is that head going on the new block or are you not gonna crack it open? should be pretty easy to pull that **** out without the head on there.

Ok well I started pulling stuff off my car to get ready for tuesday, which is when the old motor is giong out and new motor in. So Far I took out the radiator, fans, drained all the fluids, and disconnected w/e electrical I could. All of this was easy with no questions asked (Thanks a Bunch Scott ). So now I was looking at the new head and was wondering, could I spray degreaser on it? Will it damage anything like valves or cams or anything?

By that do you mean soak it in seafoam like someone suggested in a different post, or do you mean when its running? ( im assuming when its running just making sure). And I just wanted to clean up the outside of it, like the outside "walls", or is that a no no?
Thanks

oh you can clean the outside of it.

running seafoam or even just water in the intake while idling will clean the pistons and valves right up.

I was planning on only keeping the cheap oil in there for a couple days. Would it be bad if I mixed that with the seafoam? (assuming it goes in the crankcase?)

Alrite Cool then. Man...I cant wait til tuesday....Anywho....On the PS pump, theres a wire that plugs on the top of the pump that hooks to a harness that goes on the Throttle body/thermostgat. Is ther a trick to get that nut off....I mean, I just cant get it off. I even treid when i pulled off the pump for more room. still nothing...Is it reverse threaded or anything like that?

Well, Ryan came and was a BIG help. We got my motor out, got clutch assembly transferd, block in the car w/tranny bolted on. but ran into a little problem. the driver side motor mount wont go on...and even if it did, it would be stressed ALOT. So im tihnking drill a new whole or make that one bigger. what do you guys think?

take the motor mount off, and get the engine in place, just hovering over the correct postion, then bolt it back up. I take it you are having a problem getting it up over the P/S line. Dont redrill anything. I cant only go in one way, so if it's not lining up, then something else is the problem. Dont fix it by ******* something else up.

the water will instanly vaporize into steam in the combustion chamber. Steam is a great cleaner. Even if it wasn't burned off in the chamber and spit into the exhaust it wont hurt anything...it's water and some detergants.

Ps pump and Ac is out of the way. just cant get that stud to go in the hole. had it like really close, but it would have been too much stress on the stud.
