The head internally (valves, ports, etc) looks *ucking spotless. So looks like I got it clean afterall.....

I've sourced a replacement engine which needs some minor servicing - timing belt, water pump etc, which I can do while it is on the engine stand - then across goes the gearbox, etc etc and away we go.....
If you do decide to repair your engine make sure you have the crank checked. Rod offer stands if it will help you out. Can't be more then a pound or two.

I'll definitely look to repair it at some point - probably build it up to give a little more 'ooomph' under higher boost levels

I'll get the crank checked, although the bend in the rod isn't huge so I'd say it took the whole brunt.

Rods and pistons if you have spares in good condition would definitely be a bonus. I'd prefer to replace all four as a set rather than risk the three which remain, so perhaps we can talk details of that via PM if the opportunity/need arises.

I'll post pics when I get the chance to take some - you'll all love my workshop space

What do peeps here know about the HKS 264(b) inlet cam?

Does it need the matching exhaust cam or is it ok with the stock exhaust cam?

Does anyone have an adjustable pulley lying anywhere around that might go with such an intake cam, were I to say, find one on a replacement motor somewhere???

Maybe? Personally I'm not really interested in it but you might find someone who is.
