pretty much. I ended up using ARP studs with nuts on both ends, through the manifold flange on my vw; it was the only way I could keep the turbo on the manifold.

Because the pipes coming into the collector normally do not allow room to slip a bolt into the hole on the manifold side and there is barely enough room for a nut and a wrench on the turbo side

If you had a turbo you'd know this.

make enough room...or run the bolts through the ports from the inside. It would be a lot easier than to constantly **** with them like I'm going to.

I've never had my manifold to head or manifold to turbo studs come loose. The down pipe ones are another story.

Very interesting... Looks easier to use than those Stage 8 setups...

Where did you buy these? Tried googling, but just came up with distributor sites...Autozone, Advance, Napa have them? Looks like a good solution.

don't know how the thread pitch compares to the Miata, but Toyota exhaust manifold studs for the Supra turbo have a hex pattern machined into the end for separate tightening.
