Seats and Harness advice
Hey guys
Im hoping to get into more HDPE events this year. Im looking into a seat and harness setup. I came across soloracer.com with a package deal you get two Corbeau forza Fia seats and Corbeau 5pt cam lock harness for $1000. It sounds like a good deal to me. Im 5'11'' 175lbs so these seats should be fit me and miata well. My miata isnt a daily driver, im hoping to make it a nice weekend track toy thats still streetable.
Heres the link Corbeau Forza Seat & Corbeau Camlock Harness Package
What do you guys think, is it a good deal or should i save up for something differnt?

you pretty much have to. Unless you don't want your seat centered. There might be a gem out there, but like I said most seats will put you pretty high up if you don't hammer the tunnel some. I think if you don't want to hammer the tunnel, the best option is to get an adapter and mount the corbeau brackets on top of it. There is a guy on CR that makes? or middleman sells? a set of miata specific adapters.

I have an Ultrashield Spec Miata seat bolted to the floor with some steel brackets an G-Force 6-point harness. The aluminum seats are much more comfortable than one would think just by looking at them. The 17" version requires minor tunnel bashing that you can't see unless the carpet is removed. Regardless of your seat choice, upgrading to 6-point harness is well worth it if you value your family jewels.
Mine came from SPS, they were kind enough to honor a 10% SCCA discount that another vendor advertised.

I wish I had the opportunity to try a few different seats. I've only sat in a sparco sprint V seat in a miata, which for me fit like a glove. I'm going to look into ultra shield to what they're all about. I'll reconsider the 5pt and look into 6pt setups
Thanks for the input guys!
