How sir, do you get chances to check out all these ridiculous cars? You know what cool ---- I've driven? stuff I owned. Oh, and my mom's boyfriends GT500 once. That's it.
It's like every time I mention a car on my dream list you're like, "eh, did a track day in one, wasn't impressed..."

and then you have the clients that take you with them to events;
right seat and practice seat time always available

That being said, I would love to track a Vette someday while remember my Miata roots.[/QUOTE]
I don't have the experience of most of you. I have ridden in a T-1 Corvette and a spec miata though. The T1 Corvette was fast in a straight line, no doubt, but I was more impressed with the speed the Miata carried through the corners. Even as a passenger I could feel the tiniest bit of controlled tire slip through the corners. The guy who owned this SM also has a $40K Exige and is quicker in the SM. In the advanced/instructors group he routinely passed a rich, but obviously not very skilled, 458 Italia driver. That's emasculation.

The same applies to quiet little airstrips and private pilots. A lot of the guys who love to fly light planes don't prefer to fly alone but often no one they know is convenient or interested. If you hang out and talk to people they will often offer to take you up.
It doesn't hurt to hang around with people who work places like this either:
That's an R8 v10 getting twin turbos installed.
