Need a 6-point harness for an Enduro car. I'm debating Schroth Profi II vs the Schroth Enduro belt. The Enduro belt is an astonishing $600, so the Profi is more likely.

Racer bros, is the Enduro belt worth 150% of the Profi?

Is the 2" lap belt as good as the marketing claims, or should I get traditional 3"?

Car may see occasional street duty for funsies. Will the 2" HANS shoulder straps kill me if I don't wear a HANS on the street?

I'm also open to other suggestions on restraints -- I'd like something nicer than G-Force this time around.

The Schroth Enduro belts are awesome. Good enough that I just spent the money on a set for my personal car that will rarely get driven by anyone else. The lap adjuster on my old profi-II belts interfered with the seat in pull-up configuration and was really hard to adjust in pull-down.

For a cheaper version, look at the safecraft "spec miata" belts or the OMP 806.

Profi II Hans 6PT Camlock here, love it. Was missing some hardware but overall a clean, easy setup.

I bought a set of the Enduro belts and theyre amazing. The belts are FIA rated for 5 years, so if you amortize the cost over the entire life of the belt it's not so bad

Don't ignore the Safecrafts. They're at least as nice as the Schroths, if not nicer. I've seen them in a bunch of pro level racecars. They only have SFI certification but Safecraft will re-web them for free after 2 years, so you're still getting 4 years for your money. I was told that the only reason they aren't FIA certified is that Safecraft offers tons of customization options, which doesn't work well with the FIA process but is easy with SFI.

The OMPs have the same Enduro-style adjusters but the webbing is a little stiffer and cheaper-feeling than the Schroth and Safecraft stuff. They're still really nice belts though. I debated pretty hard between the 3 options and finally decided to spend the money on the Schroths for the nicer webbing, the extra year over the safecrafts, and honestly, the Schroth logo. lol. Oh, and I also prefer Schroth's new lever-style camlock over the round Safecraft camlock.

If you want Schroth Enduros, order asap. They're on backorder. I've been waiting a few weeks for mine.



All 2016 Schroth belts have this camlock. A lot of the pictures on the Schroth website still show the old version.

Who the hell doesn't have a camlock?

The Scroth enduro harness are amazing. It's all in the tensioners. Tensioning and loosening belts can be a small pain with regular harness, the enduro ones have a little gear mechanism built in that makes it effortless. If you can afford it, I'd highly recommend it for an enduro car along with the 2" belts and some surgical tubing for pull back.

I've used Enduro belts but can never bring myself to spend the money. The adjusters are nice, but I've never had any trouble adjusting the standard Profi stuff. The other thing the Enduro belts add is nylon bungee-cord which can be used to pull/lift the loose belts out of the way, but that can be added to any Profi belt with a tiny bit of DIY ingenuity.

For a NASA car, or something where you are trying to execute sub-40 second driver changes, then yeah, I might consider the Enduro belts. For a Lemons/Chump car? No way, IMO.

I would think the 2" belts are more likely to cause clavicle injuries on the street, but IMO skull/spinal injuries are what you should be concerned about if you're using a harness w/o HANS. I certainly wouldn't run a 3" belt on the track just to avoid using the 2" belt on the street.

schroth profi user here. My driver side is 2" lap belt configured in pull up with 3" shoulders. My passenger is 3" lap pull down. After using this I will never use anything but 2" lap belt in pull up for my driver seat. 3" shoulder belts are to taste and to hnrs configuration, but pull up and 2" laps aren't optional for me.

The Profi can be configured either way, but I always end up configuring it as a pull-down, then routing the loose straps through the seat and using the seat as a pulley to "convert" the belt to a pull-up. I've always found that when used in a pull-up config, the adjuster ends up fouling on the seat and loosening itself or being difficult to adjust.

I've tried that type of thing with my passenger side and it's never quite as slick for adjustment. I do agree that when configured in pull up you have to be very careful to check the adjusters and make sure they aren't being bound up by the seat lap belt openings.

I have an Enduro 6H (2" lap, 2/3" shoulder) on the driver's side and a Profi II (2" lap, 3" shoulder) on the passenger's side. The Enduro makes me smile every time I tighten the lap belts, but the Profi II is more than adequate in pull-down.

Believe the hype about the 2" lap. If you have a chance, sit in the same seat with both lap belt sizes, and you will almost certainly notice a difference in the level of snug-ness you can get.

Yeah, 2" laps for sure. There's a massive difference there.
