I tried very minimally to get the VR speed working with it, but when it didn't work on first attempt, I got a Dual VR board so I can eventually use traction control. Not saying it doesn't work, but I put VR+ to speed input, VR- to ground, and it didn't work (I think that's what I did).

I used the ABS block off plate from Advanced Autosports, then centered the Racepak, and have 2 large buttons with integrated lights on the side (for controlling the Racepak, 1 light for CEL, 1 for nothing ATM), and then datalog switch and tableswitch right above the Racepak buttons.

I have a word document that has scale prints of the instrument cluster block off plate and the IQ3s with mounting holes, so print them out, cut them out, place IQ3s in desired position and tape down, then use it as a drilling and cutting template.

Luckily with feeding Megasquirt CAN data I can send all my spare sensors either through the MS3pro or the JBPerf CAN-EGT.
This seriously sounds like the perfect solution. Are you getting enough speed through the CAN module that the IQ3S is displaying useful data? Is it possible to configure high speed and low speed inputs independently? (Like 1hz vs 10hz etc) Or is that done through the CAN interface and the ECU? (You can see I have a lot to learn)

I'm not sure, I'm new to the whole CAN thing. I basically just followed the directions to enable CAN Transfer and Dash Broadcasting in Tuner Studio, and selected Megasquirt in Racepak. I will comment that it's a fast enough refresh rate that any faster would not be more useful to a human interface. Basically it's as fast, if not faster, than my eyes and brain can process lol.

Does the Racepak do predictive lap timing?

The Street dash does not. I have an AIM Solo for that, and prefer that device anyways because I can move it from car to car. There are other dashes in the Racepak line at a higher cost that do lap time/predictive if you need that, but those don't have the street-related features of the S.

IQ3s also has an odometer which can be useful for street applications. I like that you can also wire in your turn signal indicator, parking brake light, etc, for street builds.

How many of you guys are using the IQ3 to read fuel level? This has been a source of much frustration, as evidenced in the Racepak forum. Main issue has been the averaging needed to get a stable reading.

I run an IQ3 logger, and have given up on trying to get accurate and steady fuel readings, and now use a round gauge, so the question is moot for me but others would be interested if a solution is available.

Mine works just fine, as long as you understand what it's doing. Mine is averaged nicely, so it doesn't jump around, and it will not move over bumps, hills, etc. You will notice a difference after an autocross run, then it'll slowly work it's way back up (but only 5% or so). The weird part is, the fuel will read 5-10% higher when the engine is off. When idling, the fuel level will drop about 3-4%, then when you start driving it'll drop another 3-4%.

I'm trying to get my company to release a special build into the standalone ECU market but it's not a market we typically operate in and I don't know what the volume might be. It's been hard to get management to buy into it.

The gauge is superior in hardware and to the BTI. 1.8" color display, 4 buttons for better navigation, micro SD card for logging and firmware updates. I'll try to get permission to share a video and generate some interest in selling it. Planned price point is more competitive than the BTI too. I'm really pushing to get this done. I'll post back here if there are any updates.

What does your employer need to see? There have been a handful of can bus gauges like this in development in the MSextra forums but none have yet to make it to market. There is interest in this category of product.

I like digital dashboards but not everyone wants to make that leap.

Btw, I don't really like the look of the gauge. The buttons are fine but the logo is a bit much. I feel the same way about the AEM stuff and I run one but that's just my opinion.

Yeah, I'm trying to decide between the "move a SOLO around" or "integrate everything" trains of thought. Then again, by the time I'm ready to buy there'll be at least one more new generation of AIM stuff to compare against too...
