Interesting that Ciro design has been using the APR double element for a while now.
The Nissan GTR that runs in my region has had it on since last year. and the RX7 is Andy McKee's XP car with it on.

Carbon fiber Uprights!

Yeah, I didn't realize this was news myself.. I have those very same CFD drawings including the full analysis on my computer since 2011.

Emilio,
Any ETA on the full kits for these wings?
I was tempted to buy the wing and fab up the legs but I'll wait if the full kit is coming soon.

Thanks

Default 2D FRP back in stock

So we have a surprise batch of the 2D FRP foils available again. Same spec as the last shipment but.. even lower cost. $799 + shipping until they are gone.

DIY install, no body mounts included
Bracket is riveted and bonded to underside of foil
End plate included
Drilling template for your DIY mounts included
64" width standard. That's just under OEM NA body width so, legal for NASA.
48" available upon request for SCCA
Brackets attached on 31" center to line up with Miata frame rails in or behind trunk

Finally Got mine mounted. Well mostly. I need to make something to Brace it from lateral movement. It Appears very high in the pics but the top of the wing is level with roof height.

Keep your braces below the level of the trunk if you can. Just stiffening the section where it attaches to the tub is all you need. Cables up high= bad.

copy that. Nothing will be in free stream. What we are planning is an aluminum bar with flanges bolted in between the stanchions. If that isn't strong enough then we can brace it to the license plate area as well.
Does it look too high? like I said, when the wing is at 0degrees AOA the wing is level with roof height

Level with roof is perfect.

Btw. We still have all this programmed into the laser cutter if anyone where to want these pieces. It's built off a NB aluminum bumper

What's the true advantage of the gooseneck? effectively two flow straighteners?

In simplest terms, the airflow under the airfoil is more important than the air on top. Think of it also in terms of downforce is created by: fast air under, slow air over. Conventional bottom-mount uprights disrupt a portion of the flow in the most critical area whereas swan neck mounts do so to a lesser degree.

Thats pretty much what I was going to post. The goose neck mounts do have some downsides like being more complex and having to be a good bit heavier to get the same stiffness of mount.
